  1. Yep, trying to eliminate having to R+R the valve for sure.. It's a PITA..
  2. of course both at one time is good,, Not saying to do crappy work here, but if the out put joint is in good condition, and not spinning the caps, and the yoke bolt is tight , and the yoke is secured, I would leave it alone.. does it take grease good? I think the treadle is NOT Mack Specific.. there should be a tag on one of the bolts with the part number.. Bendix is common, but some have Wabco parts..
  3. if you end up replacing the valve, you may want to leave the lines in the fittings and un-screw the fittings from the valve, ( quick release fittings) . if you even get the lines out, you will pay hell to get them in without leaks..
  4. ok, well its likely the valve then, there is a piston and o-rings inside the valve that can certainly wear a grove that will allow air to slip by.. try the spray lube thing if you can fit in there and get it.
  5. yes thats possible, my thought right now is to see if the piston is stuck with slight pressure on the treadle valve allowing air to leak by...
  6. yep, its the treadle valve.. just for kicks, can you reach under the dash and pull the dust boot back on the brake pedal piston and spray some lube in there? maybe the piston is a little sticky. Its a tight fit to get in there..
  7. is the valve leaking only when the brakes are released? is the brake valve leak really the valve, or is it the plastic air manifold in the firewall that has aboout 8 lines connected to it?
  8. She will not win the votes, but she will likely be our next president.. She has way too much support from the lib news, and hollywood , and Soros, and other big money agenda based groups, O'Bamma, Oprah, and the like.. none of them have any real concern for the best needs of our great nation..... Just power, and the ability to set back and laugh as they watch our great nation fall apart..
  9. well as far as a 305 goes,, I belive I got a good one. I was told it has a roller cam, and may be an HO.. I have no clue, but tomorrow, I am going to seperate it and pull the intake to see what I have. either way, i'm good with it.. BTW,,, re-man 700R4's are going for $2,500.00 + ON THE WEB.. I'm not saying mine is worth that, but it is a running tranny.. so, at leaste I know I have a good unit. OK GADave, time for your jokes..

  20. nothing now, I was going to separate it and put it in a tote, and set it out back with my other engines and tranny's. It has a gear reduction starter and a new fan clutch, so I will pull those for my '77 C-30... I'm buying any good deal and hoarding. I dont have another Chevy to put it in yet.. I have a 400 SB in a tote and a TH-350 that I rebuilt, and a Saganaw 3spd, from a '59 corvette.. Why do you ask? just curious..
