  1. Thats better than Chinese Torque... ''Way Too Tight'' ''Gooten Tight'' is good enough.. around 200lbft..
  2. I know one thing... That hood is friggin' heavy....
  3. The pins are tapered where they go into the axle beam.. both ends are straight.. the taper is designed so that the pin will not move upward with a load on them, and the thrust bearing takes the load of the front end weight. I wish you were doing the repair.. You would see what we are talking about.. Not being there is also an issue for me, and I am sure, for a few others on this thread... Jojo
  4. You say the tranny was re-built? by you? or another? you say 3rd gear grinds, in low and high range. 2nd and 3rd, share the same shift fork and sliding clutch. was the shift cover gone through during the re-build?
  5. E-7,,, Great engine!!
  6. post a good picture of the engine from the top and both sides.. I expect it to be an E-7,even though you said its an '89.. But it could be an E-6 4 valve. door locks should be doable. open the door and look for a metal tab in-line with the key hole. post a picture. Pictures are a huge help here.. Lots of very smart guys here!!
  7. I don't recall a single service manual. I guess you want an engine book, E-6, I assume, then a tranny book, and a few elec. Diagrams..
  8. Yes you can pull the snap ring, however you will need it.
  9. As far as revs/mile.. can't you just mark the tire at the ground, and roll the tire til the mark is in the ground, then measure that distance and divide it in 5280.
  10. Wow. I've never seen that kind.. it would be interesting to see
  11. Yes, GW.. we call them dog dish type. It pot type.. as far as going to a 15 1/2" clutch. We offered the option, be you can get a 9 spring HD clutch, and machining the flywheel is easier to get done, than the pot type. Plus guys around here don't know how to set up the dogs.
  12. I may have the diagrams, if so they are the big foldable type. So posting a picture won't work. I guess if you post a specific need I might be able to help..
  13. Does any of the bolts stick out on the inside? If so you may be able to use a vice grip and screw them out from the inside
  14. forgive me if I dont know, but isnt that pilot bearing the same one for an E-7? I know its a dog dish flywheel, but,,, anyway.. I bet Allied Bearing can find it. Does it have a snap ring around it? If i recall correctly, I replaced a dog dish E-6 4V flywheel with a new E-7 flywheel, no need to be concerned with timing teeth due to it being full mechanical. then I was able to put an Eaton Easy pedal clutch in the R-Model,, Now that I typed this,, I Know I Did !! you should consider it.. bigger clutch, with options, and parts are available.. Jojo
  15. Ricky, I found this on E-Bay.. $55.55. This is the book that I have. It is all you will need to trouble shoot future fault codes.. Jojo
  16. excellent.. thanks for posting the fix.. The injectors is more common to fail than the EUP's, so good on you for not loading the parts cannon.. Jojo I would say, FJH pointed you in the right direction..
  17. 10-4.. I have been trying to get some repairs on the house, additions an improvements to my shop, and some relaxation in the pool.. when the weather cools down below the mid 90's, I will get these engines built.. It's been blazing hot. 60+ days above 90, has worn me out. Have fun with the Case.. Jojo
  18. here in East Spencer N.C. We had a Boral Brick co. Same colors. The name changed a few years ago.. I had no idea they were a world wide company.
  19. There are a couple guys here that can get the VIN info, yes to 600,000+
  20. there is a lable on top of the front valve cover.. I suspect, an,,,, ASET-CEGR 427HP..
  21. Mowerman asked me to post this picture. One of you know's why...
  22. Buddy, there is 9 pages of diag. for this code. Yes you change it, but if its not a bad sensor, you will have to trouble shoot it.. Here is a small sample of tests. You will need a DVOM. Harbor frieght has one for about $30.00 if you dont have one.
  23. try to avoid deleting it and modifying the HP.. it is probably a 427, it has an EGR valve that can give issues, so try to keep it clean. there is a small air filter in front of the starter for the VGT Turbo actuator, replace it once a year. It looks like a small oil filter, but it is an air filter. keep the VGT control rod clean, and lightly lubed at each oil change. God luck with it.. Jojo
  24. its ''Tweety'' Cool.. My wife wants a Pete 359 in that color
