those are codes for the Malf lights.. are the bulbs burnt out? did you see a Malf light before plugging in? or did you just plug in? -

I know Ford parts cost more than Chevy parts, but that seems a bit high for a starter. Especially a re-man.. I see you had a core charge..

The coolant is red ELC. The filter kits that the dealership has, comes with 2 bags of coolant conditioning powder.. maybe take a look at that kit and the instructions.. jojo

I am struggling with this one... You are using a scanner to look at a mechanical Mack E-7... you say it has low power and black smoke. you say that you checked all the turbo parts and piping.. checked the timing?? how did you check inj. pump timing? This engine is one that you take for a test drive and feel the issue. and its one that you can run in the shop and determine fuel issues.. I wish I was there to work with you as well as a bunch of guys here would love to be there.. we used to just use gauges to find fueling issues.. of course, I dont know everything and never worked with modern computers for V-mac-I or II.. -

Hey bud, take a small bastard file and dress up the teeth.. just clean up the leading edges.. the new starter will push the bedix gear deep. If there are no burrs or debris in between the teeth you will be good.. of course there may be other spots on the flywheel that need some love so put a paint mark there and roll it around and look. Easier than pulliin a tranny in a 4X4... Jojo

In some ways I can understand how you feel.. I gave up truck repair 1 year ago, and took a job with my City. I work at waste water treatment plants, doin maint. I didn't realize how much I was NOT doing around the house while being self employed.. I just payed for a new carport, to be installed, and had a concrete truck come in and pour a pad for me.. I would have done all of it myself in the past. All I do in my shop now is maintain my own trucks and build engines. It's kinda nice to set my pace now, and pick the work I want to do.. I'm glad you are doing good after surgery, that would be a game changer for me !! Jojo

O.D. Sorry about the truck,,,,,,,,,, again,,,,,, In a short period of time it will be right as rain, and an everyday driver.. I appreciate your diligence.. on another note,,,, My neighbor asked me to scrap his grill, because he got a new one..... I said... OK... well, it has a bottle with a gauge and it feels like its almost full. and its the same one I already have.. oh Yeah,,, He added a Beer Holder to it,, easy breezy.. meanwhile I am smoking ribs and chicken in my Redneck Smoker... Lucky me I guess.. Jojo
