  1. My exhaust brake works. It is also on during warm up til about 150 degrees or so. 11+ MPG. Its no powerhouse, .
  2. Thanks Bob. I kept it maintained. The price is fair but others with less miles were listed at that price, but mine is very clean.. Happy Sunday...

  7. For some reason, i thought all ASET's had cartridge water pumps..
  8. Ok.. i am wondering why i cant answer this with 100% confidence.. im losin it..
  9. The water pump and oil cooler.. Help me out here bud.. 😉
  10. The old engine is A CCRS, 2003. the next year would be ASET. The truck has an Allison, so wouldnt it be a 300 or 350 HP ? Too bad he doesnt have an E-Tech 350 to put in it. Unfortunately, i dont know all of the numbers to help decode the mystery. When i was building these, i had a parts dept. to pick the right stuff, i would just check it against what i had, i guess i should have taken even more notes.. 🤦
  11. Pull the front cover off the new engine and get the cam number off the cam shaft.. its right there... No need to pull the cam.. then run the number... A stripped A-I and a stripped A-C look the same... It is an ASET... cam number should tell you which one..
  12. Is there a Push rod that may be too long, or the gasket is too thin ?
  13. What are you ?? His Lawyer ??
  14. I just tossed out an impressive number... Grandpa...
  15. Good thing Google News exists.. Where else will I get truth in Journalism... ? 🤔😁
  16. Most 200 year old people do have older children than 51.. just sayin'
  17. Just because.... You guys that have over 30 years in a truck impress me.. 👍
  18. Oh my... That sucks...
  19. You have the best sense of humor Tom... 🍻
  20. 👍 does he eat all his veggies ?! 😁
  21. Yep, just stopped shittin green last year. Dads taking the training wheels off my bike on my birthday.. He said i have to eat all my veggies or the deal is off...😔
  22. Yes it has a VGT
  23. As far as leaving the EGR COOLER in place, i guess i would want to remove it, so there is no air or coolant flow. Not sure about blocking it. I did work on one years ago, where someone made a plug to block the crossover EGR tube, and it was inside out of sight.
  24. JoeH,, i don't know.. i have never done that. I would think stripping all the ASET-CEGR bolt ons would have to go, and possibly a cam shaft change , maybe not. Yes the exhaust manifold is restrictive. An EECU and harness swap would probably work as well. Sorry. Ive done a lot of these rebuilds, but only used OE parts. Kinda wish I was able to try things, but my job was to put the money maker back in the road ASAP. mods come with trial and error... I say a full strip down then build an ASET-I would do it..
