  7. something like this.. fuel lines are attached to it..
  8. on the side of the injection pump
  9. Does it have a hand primer? If so, maybe next time it doesn't start right up, stop cranking, and pump the primer til it's firm and crank it..
  10. Did you crack a fuel line to find the dead cylinder? Did you do the valve adjustment by the book?
  11. how long have you had this truck?? did You! ever have cold air in the bunk?? I have made these repairs a bunch of times for guys that bought trucks, and didnt know that a blocking plate was put on the bunk lines just under the firewall.. ie: Frieghtliner C-120's.. the bunk lines were blocked because the evap core under the bunk bed was junk.. anyway,
  12. are you familiar with the markings on the flywheel? I expect valve lash to be int..016'' exh. .028''.... exh. valves are to the front of each cyl..
  13. So why is the Sky Blue ?????
  14. yes to the valve adjustment.. You have to start on #1 (#2 exh. rocker is rocked) then roll the engine around 2 full times and setting the valves according to firing order..... ''Too Young-- Too old-- Just right! 15-36-24....does it have 680 Jake brake heads? the flywheel markings are ... 1&6-- 2&5--3&4...
  15. Is this thread only about ice cubes, or is it a "why is it" about any thing... Like,,, why is it that Cats and Dogs know how good Fish tastes? How do they know???
  16. Was the cam removed? I assume you have an electric plug at the gov. Housing on the injection pump? Those pins can get loose.. was the valve adjustment done correctly, the Mack way and not the Cat. way?
  17. This is the timing tool for the Robert Bosch injection pump.. I swear by it.. Jojo
  18. I'm sorry DCW.. I lost a mentor back in Sept.. The guy that taught me about E-6 and E-7 engines.. I feel your loss.. Take care... Jojo
  19. Ahhh Good call.... I forgot about the Amish..
  20. but its the only one like it in the world... how do they have a complete ''pole assembly'' in stock??
  21. OK, Try this on for size, and tell me if i'm nuts.. I live in central N.C. 90 minutes south of me is an amusement park called, ''Carowinds''. it is on the border of N.C. and S.C..... Awesome!!!.. They have a roller coaster called Fury 325.. Great... well, 3 weeks ago, a pole broke.. You may have seen it on the news.. If not, just look it up.. Keep in mind .... 3 weeks ago... They already have a NEW pole and all the needed parts to fix it.. The local news said.. ''It's on the way'' My question is?? Where is their ''Supply Chain Issue''??? How long is it taking for all of us to get ''anything'' done, no matter if it's part's or service..????? So............. Why is that more important to fix, than the many thousands of us that have to put trucks back on the road?? among ALL other things we need to survive??? Jojo
  22. are those hot banana peppers??? If so........ put your seat belt on.. They are hotter than I would have thought..
  23. I was that guy from '85-'87.. Franks Garage,,, in Gray Maine..
  24. There should be a ground breaker, on the firewall, and next to it is the starters relay. There is a big ground on the engine block in front of the starter. And one from there to the frame behind the steer tire... Jojo..
  25. Rotten battery ground cables... String enough to light a light bulb, but can't carry amps for cranking.. there is an acc. Relay behind the center of the dash under the cup holders.. it looks like a Ford starter relay..
