  1. How about bolt on stuff, like the grill guards, bumper mounts? Tough one to dia. Without seeing the truck..
  2. Yes...thats the clip. it should not have allowed the piston to drop out.. anyway. you have a new EUP on the way, just inspect all the old parts for issues, to get an idea of what happened, then reassemble it for the 'core return'.. You seem to be doing a good job here.. be sure to clean the champher on the EUP bore, before you install the new EUP. dont want to cut the oring.. New EUP cap screws torque down 25ish lbft,1st, set,,,,, then finish at 60 lbft.. jojo
  3. Ok,, I wanted to ask.. It can be hard to tell from a picture, and I Know these engines quite well, and wouldnt want to see a scratched roller put back in.. Keep on- keepin-on.. Jojo
  4. Where is the D-Clip that secures the piston.? the Gold thingy... The new EUP will be complete..But you dont need a hardened spring steel piece dancin around in there.. does the EUP roller have scratches that you can catch a finger nail on? It looks scratched to me in the picture.. I'm not trying to be a Dick.. jojo
  5. Mackpro Pedigreed Bulldog 2.8k 7 Posted June 23, 2016 This is normal, we get calls all the time on MP oil temps. And actually 250 is normal in the summer. These topics are covered often.. A good practice is to search this site for related issues. Thats how I found this one for you.. Jojo
  6. I really need to go to the Museum and get familiar with it.. Mr. Jim Bland, the owner of Transource has asked me to register my 1948 Int. KB-7 with the museum.. I also need to get it on the road, so I can take it to the shows at the Museum.
  7. Dammit... I had a job to do today.. I wish I went.. I live 6 miles from there.. I would have loved to meet you guy's and shake that young'ns hand.. Jojo
  8. FJH.. I know I'm sidetracking a bit here... Back in 2017, when I was back at the Mack dealer trying to get a desk job.. I was told to re-build an MP-8.. Problem for me was that it was torn apart, and the parts were in a pile instead of on a table with location markings and such.. The next issue for me was... I had never been trained to build one.. So I used ''Impact'' and down loaded the whole engine book... ( I still Have a Copy in My library).. and I built that engine... It ran great when I ran-it-in.. ..I told my boss during the job that I was concerned about my ability to do it right.. He said... ''Don't worry,, if it fails We Will Warranty the job'' Right then I knew I went back to a Shitshow at a dealership.. Never again !! I literally built one more right after that one,, and 3 more over the next year and a half, before I walked out.... Never again !!!
  9. I know a little bit about an un-expected fire... We say ''Sh!t Happens'' It does...... and sometimes it's a Hell of a Surprise !!!!..
  10. ''Blinders'' to keep the money flowing masked by WARRANTY.!!!!! I have seen it !!
  11. Mark?? Dont the dealers spend a lot of time looking for any reason to void a warranty??
  12. Actually I stayed at a ''Courtyard by Marriot'' last week.. when I was at school for my 'Poop Water' Job... Oh wait..... Where was I ??? Oh yeah, Mack Trucks.. Uhhhh Well, they break, and you have to come here to get REAL answers.... For B.S. answers... See: TJC.. 💋
  13. Im with FJH.. I dont have the knowledge on these models. I left for the LAST time in June- 2019... and didnt look back.. Thank You Terry... You are very kind.. There are a few others that are well versed in these newer units..
  14. I was hoping MackPro would see this.. He always has the specs. and knowledge.. I suggest you pay attention to him.. I can help, but not as thorough as he can.. jojo
  15. You can swap it with another EUP and see if the code follows it.. if not, check the injector..
  16. Good call on cleaning the contacts.. as far as a scope in the oil drain plug.. that's a no-go.. oil pump pick up is in the way... Looks like you gotta remove the 30 nuts and bolts.. sorry.. however, this gives you a chance to look really good at the bottom end..
  17. Oh my Lord..
  18. In response to your gratitude... This web site is Amazing.. There are a lot of really smart guys on here that are willing to help.. I suggest you KEEP this 'site' in your tool box..!! Jojo
  19. Your welcome,, The cheap harbor freight ones work fine..
  20. Ok.. How about an over heating relay in the fuse panel.. Any chance you have an infrared thermometer to check relays? Yes you can use your finger tips, but its faster to use the infrared gun..
  21. So is something loose and bumps in the road cause it to short out?
  22. Run it and if it happens again, try that same truck to see if it fixes it again.. the mother board in the cluster can fail.. You can get one through Volvo, and they will flash it for you based on the VIN. Well, I had them done like that several years ago, hopefully the same way today..
  23. You may want to lean the the cluster back and check the plugs in the back side. Along with checking grounds..
  24. We have a Mack shop in Salisbury... Transource.... The Greensboro store may be the one to help. They have a store in Raliegh, and Rocky Mount is A Volvo dealer.. I worked for them for 4 1/2 years...
  25. I wonder if you now have a cluster issue.. Do you have a Volvo dealer that can re-program it or check it? I have had to bring clusters to Volvo in the past as a Core' and install the newly flashed unit.. 2007 VN D-13.. many years ago.. I wonder if it is still the same process.. ??
