  1. You speak the truth DCW.. It bothers me that something I am very proud of, is easily dissolved. Hopefully we can help him figure out, and fix his issue..
  2. I'm sittin here thinkin about the last king pin job I did. It was over 2 years ago. It was for an '86 Super liner. I got the kit from Mack.. After reading back a few posts on this, it seems to me that in the short time I have been out of the truck repair business, everyday parts are quickly becoming hard to find or diss-continued. Now I wish I was a 'machinist' with a fully equipped shop.
  3. Keyser may have a kit for it.. I have seen several B-Model axles repaired at a Mack dealer up to about 4 years ago. I need to find a set for My '48 Int. as well.
  4. I really enjoy reading these. I love to see the history.. If I had a large library The Mack Truck would be the 'Featured' book..
  5. Do you have a bad maxi brake chamber
  6. Interesting article. I'm not sure on how to react. Our president is more concerned about his wealth over what's good for our country. So for me to think he is part of a positive ( anything) is hard to Believe.
  7. Pedo Joe doesnt care about Maui.. and I thought Hawaii is a liberal world, and voted for him.?
  8. Well Bob,,, if you ask me,, it seems like DCW is your go-to guy on this one.. 🍻
  9. when you clean the spot on the front really good, you will see the ratio is stamped into the housing.. just in case you wanted to know.
  10. Interesting question.. I know that if you have 18 bolt heads, its a no-go..
  11. What do you want to bet that Maui will be sold to China, for $24.00 in junk jewlery??
  12. I saw the picture of the rear frame. I didnt see a seam or joint where the frame was stretched.. Maybe Bob can take a look for a seam, and also look on the frame for the VIN. Mech, The VIN is on the right front frame rail, right? I know on newer trucks it is, but I cant remember on the 70's models.
  13. I can try.. I will be working from memory, so there is good chance I may not know,,,
  14. are you looking to change the saddles, or the box rubbers? Wheel seals will be easy. can you post a picture of the top of the carriers, and the the bowl in the banjo housing? i'm wondering if you have cast iron housings or steel housings.
  15. do you know, roughly what year the rears are?
  16. Bob, you should be able to get part numbers and cross references from Mack. using the model and last '6' of the VIN
  17. Bob, The wheel seals are readily available.. I cant remember the number, but Stemco has a good one piece rubberized seal, that is easy to install without a special driver.
  18. and some Americans still support him and his cabinet... Go Figure??
  19. If I was a Cartoonist, my MEME would be the picture of Sleepy Joe sittin on the beach in Delaware, while in the background, His home state is burning down.. I wonder he would have ''No Comment'' about that.. What a pig, he cant even visit them and offer aid. But Ukraine gets Billions more promised to them.
  20. Yes it has wires on it
  21. I used to manage a fleet of 28 trucks and 35 trailers, Moffets and so on.. Drivers would push the limits on the fuel gauge because they thought they could make it back to the shop.. They run out of fuel, now I have road call... when a driver runs it out of fuel a couple times, thats when I adjust the fuel sender so that it looks like there is less fuel in the tanks.. Hell, it aint like they are pre-tripping, so Theres no way they are opening fuel caps to get a visual on the fuel level..
