I was wanting to ask him the same thing... PTT is cheap to buy, the vocomm box is pricey, but I also dont know if there are other products out there.. this stuff moves faster than me now..
  3. Too much there for me to make good comments on.. I guess you need a 4 door F-350 with a C-6 or granny gear 4 spd.. at least you were able to get it up the road.. Ford trucks are tough and pull real good.. Myself I am a Bowtie guy.. I have 5 of them. one is home made and pisses me off at times, but it IS tough and gets what I need done..
  4. ok.. I remember you took the VECU apart and cleaned it.. This is a hard one to fix on here.. Have you added a ground wire from the EECU housing, under a mount bolt to a clean spot on the engine.. I have had to do that several times to create a needed ground.. I wish I was much smarter about ECU issues and backdoor repairs.. Sorry Bud.. Jojo
  5. I beleive you have an E-Tech engine... 6 EUP's not a Robert Bosch inj. pump???
  6. did you check the voltages at the Diag. port under the dash? there is a low side voltage and a high side voltage.. you should have a gray 6 pin port..
  7. Thats Higher Leve Redneckin' and I Love it!! You see..... your truck wears a ''Bow Tie'' Now that's Class 🤠
  8. on the fire wall, by the steering column, is a gray wire with 2 or more wires. it has a triangular weatherpack plug on it... are the contacts and wires in good condition? that is the 1939 line under the hood.. it is part of the engine harness.. here is an example from the engine I currently have in my shop.
  9. Ok... Crazy thought.... Was either one of the carriers replaced recently?
  10. I agree.. that's why I suggested a starter button.. sometimes we just have to make it our own...

well,, I fell like it may be a fuel delivery issue.. I would be curious what the fuel pressure is.. On a gauge, not a computer.... Do you have the tools to check fuel pressure?

Fuel Filters??? First thing to look at with low power issues...
  16. It was an above ground well pump cover.. the city was tossing it in the scrap bin. Maybe it needs to be in the redneck thread??
  17. You say that there's nothing when you flip the button up?? Any chance a spaghetti line is kinked.. ? Do you hear any air in high range? My guess is it's an Eaton FRO 16 210C...
  18. Don't lossen the fork.. you can put half of the clutch brake in place, and hold it with a long skinny screw driver, and have a helper lightly press the clutch to hold it, while you get the second half ready, and push it in place.. I use a really long extension with the Allen socket and a turning knob. To start the screws..
  19. All Good... For many many many years I told drivers who would have clutch issue's, you need to use low or 1st, and ask, do you double clutch?? hell No!!! I'm a Real Driver... I don't need the clutch..... Of course when i ask one of them to help me pull the tranny to do a clutch or figure out why the tranny is popping out of gear and such,,,, Cricket's... its all good... There are plenty of drivers who dont use the clutch and they are smooth as silk.. to each his own..
  20. he was talking about CV's.. Yours is a Volvo.. What you did will work... Not professional, but............ at this point who cares???? put the truck to work and ... Git-R-Done..
  21. yeah.... i'm a double clutcher myself.. I can float and I do at times, but when I was a full time mechanic, I would double clutch because I didnt know the truck i was driving.. and it worked well with my troubleshooting..
  22. My Wife and her Family are ''BowTie '' people.. So I fit Right in... For a Yankee,,
