  1. I had too.. I couldn't delete any photos. Even Hayseed tried to guide me through it..
  2. Mech. The Power leash actually works good.
  3. A 2005 Granite, CV-713, with a Mack engine, will have an ASET-I EGR.... ( Application Specific Engine Technology - Internal EGR). It's E-7 on steroids..
  4. I know,,, I'm sorry.. at this point, I guess we will just pray that someone figures out your issue.. It's hard to do this one from 1200 miles away..
  5. so there are no local shops that know how to work on big trucks? I get the part about being deleted... That started years ago, I used to work at a Mack dealership.. we didnt touch them.. sorry...
  6. Yes sir.. I get it.. Im cool with what I have going on... hell the truck is 75 years old. it runs good and I bought NEW parts to get the brakes working.. so yeah,,, i'm good.. 🍻
  7. yes Mark.. thats true, but the rub mark means that when the yellow button is pushed in and the rod pulls back, there is stress on it.. then each brake pedal push, just grinds away at the rod.. just sayin'... I know you are very smart about this, I value your thoughts...
  8. did you like that excuse? TJC... actually, I think it is correct, I work with 4 guys under the age of 30,, They need answers right away, but dont understand the answer, then they go to the phone to get a so-so answer.. anyway,,, I think I just sidetracked this one too...
  9. Sometimes CRS is because we know SOOOO much stuff, we can't process the answer quick enough for the speedy ones that have less stuff in their brains... Just sayin'...
  10. I forgot to ask you to check the condition of the fuse box on the middle of the firewall.. check all the fuse sockets for corroasion.. Is this an E-Tech (V-Mack III) or do you have an injection pump? (V-Mac II)
  11. that noise is the acc. relay.. it looks like a lawn tractor starter relay.. How about you stop spending money, (with respect) and just clean all the grounds, including the ground breaker on the firewall, there is a major ground on the block in front of the starter, and it also goes to the frame behind the left steer tire. there are also grounds behind the dash at the left corner and the right side by the fuse panel... clean all of these and the eyelets.. then retest.. are you having issues with turn signals not working right?
  12. So, I have mixed opinions on ''Rat Rod's''.. As for me,, I love my truck but dont make enough money to buy much, so I collect parts, and I beleive GOD puts them there for me to find.. Take these little beautie's for example.. The Heat shields are NEW take offs, the owner wanted chrome, and said throw those P.O.S. shields in the trash!! OK!!... the wire in the cabinet is good wire that I pulled from high voltage control panels at my City Job, It will be my new wiring for the whole truck. The heavy wire was from 480 volt A/C,, the light wires are 10 and 12 gauge,, and the Kerker Exh. pipe is what was in our scrap dumpster today... It will be the stack for my KB-7.. I have been collecting parts for over a year.. I know that some folks wont agree with my method's. But my wallet sure does... I really need to get back on it, I have been fixing my everyday trucks lately.. jojo
  13. ok, V-Mac II has a 5-7 second delay after turning the key off.. that is normal.. the black relay looking thing in the picture is a ground breaker, it looks rough. Clean the contacts. do the same for the red one next to it. also, it sounds almost like the ignition switch is bad. There is also an accessory relay below the ash tray, it can also cause these issues.. Jojo
  14. That rubbed spot on the push rod tells me that the slack adjuster may be to short, or the chamber is not mounted in the correct holes for the slack adj. Length. When the brakes are released the clevis would have to be angled upward, therefore rubbing on the hole in the brake chamber. Paul, it does look like it is passed 90 degrees..
  15. Thanks bud. I'm proud of it..
  16. There is a tab for it.. I forget where, and I can't see it on my phone.. I think it's in a drop down menu on the home page
  17. Mech.. the ASET- series uses a Mack branded engine brake called Power leash... There are 2 rings per celenoid. The bottom one will cause the engine brake to stay on at all times if it fails. Regardless of switch position. Good question about weak operation or no operation..
  18. I had no luck clearing out pictures.. so after a while I just made a couple $25.00 donations, now I have a boatload of storage..
  19. All of these points seem good to me.. I'm grabbing at straws.. I wonder if the front drive axle is not braking good enough, causing all the brake effort being sent to the rear axle.another question I have is,,,,. Do the brakes grab hard and fast with a slight push of the pedal? Which would indicate a bad treadle valve. I would also like to see pictures of the brake chambers mounting position, along with slack adjuster length.. I hate to question another mechanic that I don't know personally, but it seems odd that so many new parts have been installed and the problem still exists.
  20. Yes to all that, and you can also jump power off the alternator to the pin sicking out of the valve cover and hear the celenoid click. Front I s low and both are high. Be careful pulling the valve cover, the celenoid wire is shet and doesn't allow you to lift the valve cover very high.. I assume AI engine and not an MP-7
  21. Sir... we tried to keep you from spending a bunch of money on this.. I'm sorry.. a lot of this should have been diagnostics and tests.. do you know what type of valve is delivering the 'service air' to the brake chambers? all 4 brake chambers should be plumbed to the same valve through 2 ABS valves, one on each side, unless you have a butterfly valve set-up centrally located on a cross member.. can you post pics of the ABS valves? I'm trying, as-is others here to help you.. I sure hope whoever adjust's your brakes.... know's how...
  22. I have been slow to respond on this one.. A while back, I saw some videos of a guy that will take a running truck ie: GMC with a 6V DD, and blow it up.. He was driving the truck in the video.. I was pissed, because the truck looked good and it sounded better.. For some reason it was funny to destroy it.. I saw a truck that could have been used as anything other than trash.. Like a camper puller.. OR part it out to guys like us that need the good parts.. Rat rods dont upset me too much, because there is some creativity and preservation. I have an OLD truck that I CAN NOT afford to build correctly, so I am just going to do as good a job as I can to make it road worthy.. it's 75 years old.. anyway, I guess it is their personal thing, that can make some of us cringe.. I'm sure my truck will make a true IH guy cringe... Jojo
  23. Bingo!!! I love it..
  24. Ohh.. the "Green New Deal" thingy.. I like clean air. Sure wish A.O.C. would keep her mouth shut, to help reduce methane emissions..
