  1. I seem to be at a loss, outside of a bad oring or swapped lines. Im going to get the book and see if there is a plumbing picture that I can post for you..
  2. So I was curious about this headlight topic.. Yes TJC, LED headlights are legal.. The D.O.T./N.T.S.B. says that any headlight can be no brighter than 3000 Lumens.. I figured I would post this, in case someone needs the info before converting their truck.. Jojo
  3. did the original shift knob have a blue range button? That is a 2070 shift knob in the picture. I forget if there is a different knob for the 2090.. I will go to my book tomorrow morning and try to find the trouble shooting guide.. Jojo
  4. seems odd, I assume you hooked the spaghetti lines up to the knob correctly? when you replaced the shuttle valve, did you inspect the little plunger for wear? I forgot to ask... will it range shift? Damn, I'm getting rusty.... I need to hit the books..
  5. Ok Bullheaded... Im not in touch with the new stuff like I used to be.. 👍
  6. many of these Xenon HID bulbs have little electric fans on them to keep them cool.. OEM bulbs for new cars can be around $100.00 + each..
  7. are you guys sure that they are not HID headlights.. either way... very bright...
  8. the air cylinder at the top of the rear case will cause this air leak. you can check it by removing one of the lines to see if air is by-passing.. Replacing the orings and gasket is easy. you do have to remove the top cover on the rear case in order to remove the yoke bolt, then the whole unit pulls out of the rear case, and you can re-ring it on the bench.. it is reccomended to replace the yoke bolt, of course you can put some patch lock on it and put it back if the end of it is not deformed.. jojo
  9. This is what we have around here.. I guess it's "Multi-lingual" jojo
  10. Yep... I get it..too... when a truck comes in the shop 'Hot' and has to go right out, no dicken around,, sometimes it just get's 10 seconds of pumping and out the door.. kinda like a whore...
  11. Macks.. I would think in a perfect world, it woud be ok.. But, when I started to fix these Dogs 23 years ago, We only put grease in them.. grease is nothing more than oil and a thickener.. Im sure you have seen the back side of a saddle when the truck is sitting, and the lower edge of the saddle is right up to the flange on the trunnion tube. Which means the brass bushing is worn and the trunnion bar is flattened on the bottom. My point here is... how could oil stay in there? the rubber seal is just pushed in by hand, so it's not a press fit.. anyway.. with all the postings on this... to me ... none of us is wrong or not knowing... I'm just happy that there are this many guys that actually grease the trunnions.. and coversations like this will help someone get more life out of their camel back suspension.. jojo
  12. What year is that book MACKS? I like it, and hadnt seen that info before... Thanks,, jojo
  13. yes Master welder.. Grade 8 SAE, or 10.9 Metric. The frame bolts are Huck Bolts,, Very strong.. jojo
  14. TJC. I'm pretty sure LED headlights are illegal. I worked at Orielly's 3 years ago, and we sold LED bulbs, but not advertised as "On-Road" head lights,, Off road only.. The interweb is where these lights come from.. way too bright for on-coming traffic.. In my opinion.. and Bob, here in N.C. we have the new age 'Country Boy' who is driving a pick up that is 6 feet tall and has LED light bars on it.. When I drive the country roads and one comes up on me, all I can do is slow down a bit and look down to the right at the white line to maintain my lane, because I cant see straight out the windshield. jojo
  15. I just paid $41.00 for a case of Orielly brake clean.. (12 cans) $75.00 for a case of SAE 30 (12 cans)... All of my paycheck goes to home and auto maintainance. I can not imagine trying to start a trucking company today.. Seems to me, If you want to make a million in trucking,,, start out with 2 million...
  16. I had to LQQK..... Holy crap.. I couldnt beleive my eyes.. those prices are crazy.. How the hell does anyone make a living running a quarter million dollar truck that breaks down every few month due to expensive exhaust system issues..? I am surely out of touch on this one.. jojo
  17. I have to think on this one.. Do you have access to P.T.T.? if so, I recommend a throttle re-calibration. any chance you have another truck like it, so you can swap the throttle pedal to see if it changes? There should be a few others coming along to help you with this one.. Lots of smart guys here. jojo
  18. do you have a 5-1 or 5-2 code? How high does it go up, and does it stop? Has any work been done latley.. Is there dirt jammed into the wheel under the pedal? That is the throttle position sensor. jojo
  19. I have seen that, and was told (When I was New at this) to remove the one in the cap and put the bleeder in.. I guess the good thing is that we are all aware that they are there so that means we WERE greasing them..
  20. so you didnt have a grease fitting in the saddle, and a bleeder in the cap????? Hmm..
  21. they are, and they will purge some grease if the trunnion has been in service for a while.. Kinda why I thought the 1-5 PSI one would be a good choice. I really dont know, because we always just jacked them up and greased them til it came out the vent, and yes,,, grease has dropped off the rear of the saddle. when jacking it up, you can tell which ones are going to leak a little, when you see the bottom of the saddle go from no gap, to having a gap when the weight is off of it.. jojo
  22. yes it will... I would suggest 1-5 PSI, but I have never looked into the pressure rating.. do you think a 20+ one, would force more grease to the inner thrust washer?? Dunno.. as far as I know, you put the grease in the top of the saddle, then it goes around the grooves to the bottom, then it fills the space behind the cap, then it pushes out the vent.... Ok, now I'm Dizzy....
  23. 🍻
  24. Dunno... 1-5,,, i guess. they pop of pretty easily..
  25. I don't remember what the book said, old timers showed me how to jack it up
