  1. seems like if you do that right Paul, there wont be a bulge in the sleeve,, sounds better than welding it up and turning it back down.... I like it..
  2. Here I go again.... Mech, you talk about using a computer to diagnose issues..... one of my co-workers rolled a laptop to a truck to diagnose why one of the headlights was out.. He did that first... yes, I had to learn that these new turds have L.C.M.'s.... light control modules... in his case it was a bad bulb... I smacked my forehead and asked where the hell am I??
  3. I was taught to use an Arbor press to install them, and i would buff the leading edge with emory cloth to reduce the risk of cutting the seal, and I also put a small kiss of RTV on the inside of the sleeve to seal any imperfections on the yoke, shaft, whatever.... ya know what i mean?
  4. I would love to send one to Mechohaulic,,, But...... He said no... Barry are you able to add one more to my bill and send it to me? I will send it to mech..
  5. SKF is still making them Mech.. Speedy Sleeves.. I use the tin cup for small parts, i glue a magnet to the bottom of them, works great.
  6. good deal Bob.. I didnt want to confuse the thread, just steal a bit of it
  7. Bob just making sure you realize what I posted was about the steering box on your truck, I think that was what you were looking into fixing.. jojo
  8. I gotta say Nick.. I really like the info you post about diagnostic laptops.. I myself am out of the repair business, however, this info is surely valuable for others on here.. Good job sir.. Jojo
  9. Bob, when you take yours apart, look at the sector shaft, and make sure the seal didnt cut a groove into it.. other wise you wil waste time and money, some shops can weld the groove and then turn it back down.. Jojo
  10. what a waste of a beautiful woman...
  11. can you take it apart and see what it needs? pumps are simple. what is the reason for the pump repair?
  12. Just called in an order for 1.. good deal..
  13. im glad you are ok and doing what you can, and also glad that you are able to post on this thread... are there starlink units in action there?
  14. Mp's and the other Mack engines are totaly different.. they are Volvo engines painted red..
  15. Please follow my lead here... You have an ASET.the lifters have ceramic rollers.. if you run the valves wrong, you can crack a roller. Cam damage is instant when that happens. You also have power leash engine brakes, so those are done in a different order as well. I wish i had an extra book to send to you..
  16. When you rune the valves, follow the Mack procedure!!! Dont do them like a Cat or Deere
  17. It wasnt, just tossed that out there in the case he didnt know what he has.. :).
  18. Dean... Just checking in.. I hope you are getting things back together. I also hear on local news the FEMA is allowing civilians to bring aid. That is great news.. God Bless You !! I hope Dawson is doing ok.. Jojo
  19. the length of the injection pump as well as an Ambach if thats what you are going to use, because yours has a Robert Bosch inj. pump, matters for the fuel lines. does you fly wheel have the valve timing marks on it? if not, are they on the balancer, and do you have the 2 pointers on the front cover? if not, there is 2 round bumps on the front that would be drilled and tapped to mount the dual pointer. No biggie. I only did one of these conversions. I found a pump timing setting from my book, using the H.P. turbo type, and some luck.. My posting is not very professional, but when I finished the job, the truck fired up perfectly (after it was primed and ran-in for a minute) . it also had good power for the application. MR garbage truck with an Allison.. I dont know about the cam and any issues there, but I dont see why there would be one..
  20. Is this an ASET -I or CEGR?
  21. Fuse 40 in the fuse box under the hood. Did i not post the pin out chart for you?
  22. I dont think its a FICM anymore. Just part of the program in the EECU.
  23. I started working in the shop at a Mack Dealership, in 2000, and took in all the knowledge i could. I had a natural attraction to that type of work.. i switched careers, 2+ years ago. I still build Mack engines at home in my shop.. but at a much slower pace.. I also have dozens of Mack svc. Manuals, and read almost all of them..
  24. The wires for the flywheel sensor take a lot of abuse.every that flies off the steer tire hits them..
