Hmmm,, I seem to remember Volvo/White /GMC.. ( WIA + WG) model trucks, back when I was a newbie.. I guess Volvo, has been trying to own all of the truck makers.. am I supposed to question my love for Chevy trucks?? I have a few of them..

Im not really sure why a Mack 200 or 300 series synchro would go out early? a lot of the time, the o-rings for the range shifters are not replaced/lubed every few years.. Sometimes I think that drivers flip to 'lo' at too high of a road speed and over speed the rear tranny gears.. I have seen worn clutching teeth, which I relate too slow range shifters due to bad or dry orings.. anyway, I dont know if you have ever been inside a 200 or 300 series Mack tranny.. The synchro is large compared to Eaton or meritor.. I describe it as a 2 sides motorcycle clutch.. I believe there are 14 friction plates and 12 pressure plates, plus a thick thrust washer.. It really isnt hard to repair, but having a book for the first few times is very important.. too many steps, too just 'wing-it'... 🍻

The book is 23 years old.. I got it after finishing Tranny school for Mack.. I have 4 sets of tranny and rear end books

I knew I had the Mack in-chassis synchro book.. Here are the special tools to do the job. the ''Z'' brackets can be home made, the holding plate costs more for a machine shop to make than it is to buy one.. Good luck,, Jojo

Good find.... That is the V.E.C.U. looks like the wind shield is letting rain come in.. I think you can spray it clean with electrical contact cleaner that is 'sensor safe'..

I'm guessing, Mack cant find the part # with the V.I.N. ? I used to take my dirtbike cables off and poke one end through the corner of a ziplock bag and go around a few times with elec. tape to seal the bag to the cable. Then pour a couple ounces of ATF in the bag and hang it up. ( Kinda like an I.V. bag) in a few hours, or over night,all the ATF has poured out the other end. Just an old way to keep my cables lubed.. On sorter cables I have used a drill and spun the cable. like a screw pump, i could dip it in ATF and it will pull the ATF through the sheath, and come out on the drill end. it takes a few minutes to do it this way.. Jojo

Just a little update.. I believe i posted that A.T.&T. / Directv dropped NewsMax, and O.A.N. .... a while ago... Well,,,,, NewsMax news channel is back on the lineup.. so I guess we'll see.. Not life changing news here, just a small part of the bigger issue. The Dissolving of the effort's, to destroy US.. I hope this is a trend, and in 2024, we ACTUALLY see an HONEST VOTE..
