  1. The tool that removes them has a similar action to a tail pipe expander, with knurling on the out side to grab the inside of the cup.
  2. Try .... Tillmantools.com and Monacotools.com and Freedomracing.com... I buy E-7/ E-Tech tools from them.. jojo
  3. I agree with you Mark.. The last Mack Dealership I worked at would refuse ANY deleted truck.. As far as the tooling, I made some comments on that early on.. Myself, I have only done about a dozen cup job's.. I saw guys do them in a few hours, but they did not use the bore protectors for the cleaning process, and skipped a couple other cleaning procedures like blowing out the journals. and they also did not run the valves after re-setting the rocker shaft. when I did them, I took twice as long to get them done, and they didnt come back for re-work.. (Proud to say it)... I stress the importance of having the section in the book to do the job, as well the tools... I WILL NOT be buying the tools to do these repairs in my shop.. I will stick with E-6 -- Aset's.. jojo
  4. At least you didnt tell him to pull the cam instead of the rocker shaft..
  5. I like the idea of a coolant flush.. an old timer taught me years ago to use Cascade.. It was for oil, however,. It cleans.. Jojo
  6. Onyx,, Thank you for noticing my mistake.. I edited my post for any future reference.. Jojo
  7. yeah i meant rocker shaft... sorry.. i got lost for a second...
  8. yes.. If it gets worse, you can pump the primer to get fuel up.. I have loosened the return on the front and pumped til fuel was present then lock it down and pump a few more times.. then turn it over,, Keep an eye on the oil level and make sure it is not rising.. I have had over crank protection, shut the starter off before it fires up.. you may wear out the primer, but the MP-8 primer pump is replaceable, without buying the whole filter pad..
  9. Sounds good.. Smart Idea to get all the parts ready.. supply issues have been bad, as you know.. I wish I knew of a company that makes after market cup sets, I always struggled with the idea that you had to replace the injectors, because of the cups.. Stay in touch, there are quite a few guys here that are currently working on MP engines... I ran away from them 4+ years ago.. Jojo
  10. With all-due-respect.. If you choose to do this job,, Please get the section of the book for this repair.. It is a good bit of work, and it would suck to get it all together, and have a bad seal in a new cup.. Good luck sir.. Jojo
  11. 22mm... or 7/8" some others are 24mm... You have to remove the rocker shaft to do this job.. It would be good to have the torque sequence.. it is 13 steps.. plus the other info, like injector pre-load adjustment.. Do you have the book, or at least that section of the book.. ? jojo
  12. Here is a useful page from my Svc. manual... notice the EUP numbers and the PIN numbers in the EECU plug.. There is a lot of info in this one picture..
  13. Hello, welcome aboard.. ( 8-? codes are the eup's) 8-1--- 8-6.. 8-5 is the #5 EUP..8-9 is a code related to all of the EUP's. check the wires that run behind them for cracks and exposed wires. DO NOT BUY A EUP AT THIS TIME !!!............. You can also check the J1 plug on the EECU for corrosion.
  14. TJC,,, Are you my Twin.. My little pocket gun is a .22Mag mini revolver with a folding stock.. my Couch gun, the M&P 9 has Trigicon night sights as well..
  15. I get it... I was grabbing at optomistic straws... anyway,, it's not hard to do.. Now I wish I wrote down all the part numbers when I did a B-model and 3 RW's.. a year and a half ago.. Many others here can probably tell you what you need better than me, at this point.. jojo
  16. If the budd hubs are close in year range they should.. I know you know, but when you strip them off slide one on the new spindle and torque it down.. I bet it fits... I have converted a handfull of them and have had ease in getting bearings and wheel seals.. I wouldnt be surprised if they are the same.. jojo
  17. I believe that is a 38,000# set up with the 8 hole axles.. You got a hell of a deal there.. there are sooo many useable parts.. awesome !!!
  18. Amen,,, I struggled with Ebonics, Now I have a new language to learn.... What is it called??? 'Hipster;?? I dont know.. jojo
  19. I too would love to have one too (45-70 Govt.) ,,and, an M-1 Garand... But my wallet is too thin, plus the ammo is probably upwards of $3/shot.. I know the ammo for my Lee Enfield is $2+ and hard to find where I am at.. I love my Enfield.. (303 Brittish) jojo
  20. Yes sir, Mark.. No F'n common sense anymore.. If the phone or computer doesnt fix it, their brains cant either.. So ... Bring on the older folks..!!.... I work with a 28 year old who is very inteligent, but seems to know everything about everything, then when you ask him what his approach is,,, he actually hadnt done it, he just read it on the web.. But He put's it out there like he has the skill's.. It's weird..
  21. I'm surprised I havent heard the Biden Klan, claim victory over the high fuel price problem they created..
  22. TJC,, I dont have near as much as you.. My total is around 4000.. I did score a small Stainless cabinet, but it is too small. I have 2 large 'Spam' can's of ammo.. one is 7.62x39 the other is 7.62x54r.. 440 rds./ per can.. I still have 4 more long guns with ammo in the house, in case I need to act quick in my neighborhood.. ie: .22 bolt action, .410 'Pardner break action, a Hi-Powered .177 Pellet rifle, and an AK 47 with 3 Banana Mags, an M&P 9mm, with 3 double stacked mag's, and a 'Judge' in my night stand.. oh yeah, and 3 dogs that announce your presence.. This is the other S.S. cabinet I have, yes it will be for ammo. As you can see it is not very big.. But it was free..
