  1. Here it is Onyx....
  2. Yes sir it will mess up 3 on the Macks you know.. He said that with the intake off the engine, it puffs out smoke when running.. Its cool that he took the time to inspect his issue that way.. He didnt dissable the engine right away..
  3. Uuuhhhh...... and you sir?? Oh yeah, me too....
  4. No need to thank me,,, I was in and out in a short time, Honorable Medical, I hurt my back really bad carrying a 340 Mopar with a friend on ice and snow, the therapy I needed was more than what the 'Guard' wanted , and I didnt get to go R.A. I went in the day after my 17th B-Day, was Out just before I turned 19..
  5. 1986, when I went into the Army.. I should have stayed till I could retire.. Of course, I may not have been a Mack Guy, and got to know you guy's..
  6. and throw all the parts in a pile, rather than lining them up, marking them, inspecting them during tear down, and so-on.. I have had the pleasure of building engines that I didnt tear down.. my favorite thing was finding rod caps in the speedy dry that I had to sweep out from under the engine, or MP eng. brake plungers laying in the frame rail or on the floor, no way to know which rocker they came from... yeah... good times.. Dont miss that at all.. I am sure you are keeping them organized as they go... Jojo
  7. I prefer to do the diag. myself.. PTT is useful, but I have to use MY Brain and 6 senses.. just sayin'
  8. I found CBR useful at times, and tried to contribute as well.. jojo
  9. Yeah, Computers,,, That's the ticket.. No need to; look/listen/hear/feel/or smell??? anymore, just change the part listed on the screen...
  10. I would love to take your classes... jojo
  11. I pulled a "Mechohalic" I went off topic...
  12. I just took another look... Heck if she's a 'Cool Chick' I'd be happy,
  13. How about providing a "Mobile Colonoscopy Service"?
  14. Yes sir.. I need to get another compression tester. I dont do engine diag. anymore, ( accept for here at BMT). or at least I try.. But i'm sure one will come along one day.. i like that you have the hold down bar for E-6 injectors..
  15. Yeah,.... What He said !! thanks Mark
  16. I like my snap-on camera as well. its 3 feet long. it will take snapshots also.. Pricy, but valuable... jojo
  17. ok,, I missed the part about blowing back through the intake, I just read back over the post.. and Mark is showing you pics of a great tool to own,, any chance you checked compression before digging deep? Just curious, and I am really out of ideas on this one.. Good luck to you. Keep in touch.. jojo
  18. I just looked again,,, is #4 head gasket leaking coolant??
  19. the grime between the heads tells me that the fuel cross over tube is leaking and washing oil from leaking valve cover gaskets. and yes EUP's can leak outside, typicaly fuel, which will mix with the other fluids to make the mess you have, and the fuel return line under the chrome heat shields will do the same thing.. also,, all of the lower exhaust studs are live, and can leak oil from the pushrod bores.. Pressure wash the engine, and run it hard to see just where its coming from... jojo
  20. let me clarify... no computer operating the fan clutch.. yes, when they are gunked up, they dont work right.. his is only 8 months old... so maybe it needs to be cleaned and then re-tested... sorry, I'm new when it comes to an E-Tech....
  21. no computer.... just mechanical operation.. Rare these days...
  22. they will turn by hand when cold, and yes, with engine running, they are engaged until they warm up a little, them they are controled by the heat off the cooling pac (radiator, c.a.c., A/C condensor) .. I guess we are saying the same thing in different ways.. jojo
  23. Onyx.... sir.... He has a viscous fan, not an air op fan.. sorry bud...
  24. should not move the belt. ever... if belt tension is correct
  25. the viscous clutch has resistance when cold but will turn.. they hum during warm up, then drop out when the clutch warms up... then when 185 degrees or more if running A/C, comes through the radiator, the pigtail on the front opens up and engages the fluid into the clutch inside the assembly.. serp belt?? -or- no tensioner, alt is on a banana bar?
