    the red button is not part of this issue Mech.. It is a seperate switch, that only controls the rear air bags.. its actually a simple system, especialy on a 90's truck...

    well that is correct... they will not rise until tractor protection valve opens up to supply air to the other systems..... only the brakes get the air above 25 PSI... It is a safety feature in big trucks...

    I have also seen the filter screen inside the air input port on the leveling valve, blocked up with red dirt... I guess southern red dirt can travel throught the smallest places...

    the air switch takes air from the tank through a regulator in a pro set-up. then sends it to the leveling valve to the 'pilot' port.. the valve dumps the air for you, so you can hook or unhook. then flip the switch and suspension rises to a preset level..

    ok.... there is a leveling valve on the front drive axle.. make sure there is a supply of air to it. if not, let us know.. you can un hook the supply line after you reduce air pressure below 85 psi, then crank the truck and after 85-90 there should be air coming out of the line you un-hooked.. if not... the regulator at the tank is probably junk... also, remove the dash panel and see if the switch is an air switch or all electric.. post the results. jojo

    do you have air bags on the rear suspension?

    that is air suspension control.. it drops the air bags to hook/un-hook to a trailer...

    is the switch for fifth wheel slide? What is it for, send a close up picture of the switch... some of these trailer switches require the trolley handle to be applied.. jojo

    Best ??? E-7 Mechanical.... Million Mile Engine.... Changes??? Bring it Back... Here's a thought. It Moved loads like a pro, maybe a little too slow, (Poetry).. It also did it with low maintenance cost's. and it got 7+ MPG... Now a-day's,,, we have been brainwashed about saving the Whales, and NO smoke out of an exh. stack.. but... the G-Men said,,, Hell no,,, we cant have something that WORKS..... so now we have gov. exh. systems, that cost more money, and down time, so that Owner Operators have to juggle to stay a-float..     I remember in the beginning of this post, talking about grounds and the ACC. relay, and such.. If you look back to page 1 you will see.. so.... now I suggest you test run the truck, and come back with a 'Status update'.. this way, we can stay closer to the issue rather than going out on a limb for ideas, Like The way that I did, after I read about other issues... There are many guys here that give their knowledge freely, and want to know that the help you received was good, and got you back on the road.. Keep on Keepin' on.... jojo

    this is a strange one.. if SAE bolts are used, that will be an issue.. the threads are 16mm metric.. the bolt grade is supposed to be 10.9
