  1. Well, the Boys helped me sand and paint my rims and spacer's today.. It looks good for a 74 year old truck.. even thought the metal is pitted a little, and the best part is.... My juice brakes work. jojo
  2. Good deal D.C.W. Can I get Opti-lube at NAPA? I have a diesel fork lift that could you a little love. It Has been my best employee for the last 12 years... Its full mechanical... jojo

  6. I pulled the 400 out after 2 years... It was too much.. I put the 350 back in, but i put the stock 400 cam in the 350 with new lifters.. it runs great and pulls good.. I use it locally.. I took the turbo 350 tranny out years ago, and put pedals and a saginaw granny gear 4 spd,.. I had the 400 with the 4 spd. and could burn the dual's with ease, just couldnt drive it like a work truck.. and in the rain, with that 400 I could spin every gear, which meant I could,,, wreck...
  7. Hell yeah... When I put the hopped 400 in my "Old Blue" I called it a 4442... 400/4BBL//4spd/dual exh. that F'r was tough, and turned a lot of heads...
  8. I keep it full of 'cookies'.. Damn Dog's.....
  9. I wish I had one,, '67 I believe.. The cookie jar is an important tool in my shop.. When my boy's wont let me work, I toss 2 cookies out of the shop and get a few minutes of free time.. That last statement was Bullsh!t... they come right back for more cookies.. who am I kidding????
  10. the Halo test is right.. and you are right Onyx... For me, this doesnt pass the 'smell test'... I think more info is needed.. there is no way 11 gal. of oil is colored by a quart of steering fluid.. If I am wrong..... well ok..
  11. Nice to see you Onyx... I was just about to P.M. you...
  12. By the way,,,, The 'B Model' with the service body on it, is a current working truck in Moorseville.. That kick's A$$ !!!!!
  13. I keep a 'Cookie jar' in my shop too..... Just sayi'n,
  14. ok,, I just saw the last part of your question... thank you Hayseed.. NO.... it should hold air... the rest of what i said is true..
  15. Ricky,, It does both... It maintains a cab level... it will take air when needed and dump air when it is too much... It is a simple system... If you were to see inside the valve and how it works you would smack your forehead...
  16. Ok Bob,, Just a little more 'Shop Talk'... this is the cheapo turn signal wand.... The chrome look doesnt fit the truck, but...... Whatever....

  19. Stanadyne... instead of Seafoam.. Put some in the fuel filters and the rest in the tank.. the mix is on the bottle... jojo
  20. Buddy If we were closer... I would let you pick from a few Rifles.. Dammit!!!!
  21. I dont have lots of money to do more/or higher quality work to this truck. I used a wire brush and brake clean to remove the rust from the hub assemblies. I cant afford sand blasting. I have also gathered up some new 12 volt parts, headlight bulbs, turn signal wand, and pigtails.. The turn signal wand is from Amazon, AKA , China/Taiwan.. it was $20.00. chromed plastic. I figure since it also came with a clear wiring diagram, that the diagram alone was worth the cost. at least I will have the new wiring in place, in the case the cheapo turn signal fails too soon .. I know one thing,,, since I stopped serving customers, and fixing trucks everyday... It is actually enjoyable to go into my shop and work on "Sanford" That's his name.. Yesterday I fixed a broken ABS wire on my wifes Avalanche.. I saved the cost of a new hub assembly.. $155.00 at Auto Zone.. 30 minute repair. I soldered the broken wire back together, and had a heat shrink ready and then I used 2 coats of a liquid elec. tape, that dries like plastic.. This repair should last a while.. OK, there is my "Shop Talk" for today... Jojo
  22. That beat up looking Chevy C-10, with the Flux Capacitor in the back, is a wood fired truck.. it runs on the gasses created by the charcoaled wood he burns.. he was splitting small pieces of wood into chunks, for an hour or so... It was impressive to see him get it ready.. and when he had a good bed of coals. he cranked it up, warmed it up and left.. he has a duct attached to the carb, and the engines vacuum pulls air through the fire and then the coals in the reactor, and then into the engine. Why am I not smart enough to think of stuff like that???
  23. I started out with bare spindles at 10:30, and this is as far as I got.. I wasnt in a hurry, and my 3 Pup's were there to help me. They were jumping on me, and begging for cookie's, and pats on the back. but we got this by 2:45.. Thanks for asking Bob... I hope all is good with you .. Jojo
  24. O.D. I'm Glad that I got different pics.. I was afraid that I may have posted pics that you may have gotten.. I got excited and started posting... I'm glad I met you ,Zina, and the pups.. jojo
