Does my truck have air ride cab
Joey Mack replied to Ricky Beals's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
it makes it fresh and new, the elbow pipe will last for a couple years. just one of those little things we overlook when trying to keep leaks under control. jojo -

Thats the breather... it happens.. have you put a new spinner in there? #2134 I think thats right. I typed it really fast... If you get one from NAPA, make sure it is ALL metal... trust me... jojo P.S. replace the lower elbow hose.. I bet it is as hard as plastic... the nipple on the block is easy to remove, and reseal.. get that o-ring too.. if you cant, use good RTV.. jojo -

I would buy it in a heart beat at $500.00... but I am In N.C. Theres a rebuilder in Michigan that fixes them, but I can not remember their name.... maybe they would buy it.. IMO, that is one of the BEST Mack tranny's.. please dont scrap it.. sit on it til you find a good dollar for it.. it is a classic REAL tranny... jojo

Larry, Can you remove the cluster and then remove the back panel to inspect the condition of the circuit board? also,, this is a stretch, but I did this for my Home heating system. I used my Fluke meter to OHM out all the resistors diodes and the other ones I cant name.. what I did was, picked out the ones that looked the same with the same striping, and ohm'd them.. I found one that was different from the other same one's.. I didnt have spec's, just saw it was different.. For me I was able to buy a mother board and fix my home heater.. 5 years ago, still heating now. my point is... if you find a "like" diode/resistor/capacitor, with a different value... maybe you could get a new one and solder it in to replace the bed one.. I know I am reaching out on this, but I'm not full of crap either.. We dont have parts at our disposal, so we have to go back to being mechanic's again... Hell you may find one in an old T.V. or something and melt it out to re-use it.. I have a kickass hand held soldering iron that will get it done.. I used it a few hours ago to repair a broken ABS sensor wire in my Wife's Avalanche.. $30.00 re-chargeable hand held tool,, on Amazon... Jojo

I believe,, The brake pressure switch that shuts the cruise off, is a Normally open switch... Are you sure you have the correct switch. With truck off an no air pressure, you should be able to Ohm the switch and the fluke meter will say "OL".. if there is continuity, then its the wrong switch.

Yard Art
Joey Mack replied to Licensed to kill's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Yes LTK, how are you doing? -
I have read this thread a few times.. I really think that I have NO CLUE.. I used to work on and maintain, what ACTUALLY worked... These newer engines may have the power and performance, but , they cant do it for 500,00 miles+ before a MAJOR repair is needed.. I really think that some of us have been brainwashed into thinking this new TECH is the answer... These new engines produce a lot of broken parts that cant be re-built , and that put's parts in the trash.. not recycled. also, sure older engines got 6+ MPG, but they did it honestly. So there was a little smoke.. So what... These engines kept the trucks moving and these newer trucks are just an appeasement for some dumbasses that dont move freight.. Maybe these tree huggers need to run the exhaust through an exhaust BONG that is a water tank instead of a DEF tank, and let the water filter out the junk. Then you pull up to a waste water dump station like RV's use when they dump their gray and black water, then refill the truck BONG with new water and drive on... Water is an incredible filter... OK... So there's my CRAZY thought... 😘 Jojo

Does my truck have air ride cab
Joey Mack replied to Ricky Beals's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
if you look back at the link Onyx posted, it shows how to mount the arm. that pic is a rear supension set-up, but the same idea... I think what you have is a universal fit valve.. -
