  1. there should have been a single pole bullet plug sticking out of the 4 wire harness... that is the reverse lights.. also.. do you have that plug???
  2. Interesting post on block heaters.. I know that the 'Katz' block heaters I am familiar with were reliable. What I was taught, was to plug it in at the end of the work day while the engine was hot, and it would maintain a warm temp. I was told that they were not going to take a cold engine and bring it up to a warm temp for the AM. start up.. I learned this in Maine.. anyway, just my input, and this was over 20 years ago.. jojo
  3. I would also put seperate vents in, There are some that have a check ball in them to allow for expansion, but keep stuff from being sucked in when the fuel cools off over night.. You should be able to use a 2000 model CH-613 if you need to find a part number, or maybe you have a parts guy at a local parts house that knows what you want... Jojo
  4. One thing I dont miss is truck owners that think I am supposed to keep my rate's low because Biden Diesel hit 6 bucks a gallon.. and I'm supposed to fix the truck as good as if it was at the dealership, at $60/hr. Meanwhile I run a diesel svc. truck, and have insurance, tool cost, shop supplies, sometimes an employee, and well you know the rest..... jojo
  5. How long is the crank time before it fire's? does it start up correctly, or stumble as it picks up fuel (Prime)?
  6. No worrie's there buddy.... Luv U,, jojo
  7. Damnit TJC,,, you woke me up from my dream....
  8. Yes sir.. I had no idea... I just wanted to do something different, and build engines and fix a truck here and there -on the side-.. It's different all right.. Oh yeah,, my drive to work is 12 minute's.. WTF ??? Our city has 20 openings in the 'street dept' alone.. and 30 more in other divisions.. I will be getting a 5% raise in 6 months plus a cost of living raise as well.. I am only paid $21.50/ hr. right now, but with all the bennie's, and my cheapass redneck lifestyle, I can live on that. plus my wife makes a paycheck too, and I have side work,,, Wont get rich, but also wont starve.. jojo
  9. Well I can tell you this.... I have been working for my city part time for a couple months. I just hired on as a full time employee.. Monday was the first day. I am in Waste water management, maintainance division. On Day 1, I get 8 hours/ month sick pay, 8 hours/month personal time, 13 paid holidays, free health ins. (Me only), they open a 401k and put in 4 % even if I dont contribute, Boot money, I got 5 new pairs of Carhart pants today, a free "City Nurse" to go to for routine issues,, and the freedom to be 'Myself' with NO-ONE breathing down my neck. an hour for breakfast, and an hour for lunch. In my 8 and a half hour day, I may work up to 3 hours.. What The Hell????? I have never had this.. 24 years in trucking and truck repair, working my A$$ off every day, at the least 8 hours of hard labor. I have my own "Tooled up" service truck and a city credit card to buy up to $999.00 worth of stuff, as needed.. I dont make a lot per hour, but I have almost no stress, or responsibilities.. Oh yeah, and the 11 guy's I work with are all good guys to work with.... Where the Hell am I ???? Jojo
  10. I thought about lighting a fire in the cylinders but was afraid to post it.. No Sledgehammer's.... that fire wont be hot enough to melt the pistons.. Luv it... Jojo
  11. I'm leaning towards a donor truck as well.. after reading the posts over a couple times, is where my opinion comes from. Maybe you can pull that engine apart, just for a learning process, then offer it for sale as a basket case..
  12. I guess a short piece of 4x4 and a 3# mallet... Might get it.. alternate hitting the pistons.. like playing 'Whack a Mole'... Do you have a buddy that can pull on a breaker bar attached to the crankshaft? (Clockwise) motion..while you smack 'em...
  13. I like your positive attitude... .
  14. Good thing you didnt force it to turn over.. The liners may still be ok.. any chips on the top of the liner, where the fire ring would go? Keep it comin'... jojo
  15. Interesting statement Bob.. I have no clue about todays engines, and longevity.. I just remember Million mile E-7's and have seen many E-Tech's as well... How about the exhaust system's on the engine's you are talking about? Just curious... jojo
  16. A light dip in 15W40 Is what I was taught and on some others, 30W... not to much, so as not to hydraulic lock them up before final torque..
  17. just curious,,, when you install the nuts on the studs, and the stud turns/tighten up, what do you do about that? the studs dont have a screwdriver slot on top, so you can adjust them before you put torque on the nuts..
  18. Can I get an, Amen !!!
  19. I am really hoping you find minimal damage.. and I'm glad you are opening it up to look inside as well... I may be repeating myself, but I have been watching your post.. and I'm pulling for you.. jojo
  20. 👍
  21. How about 6 new set of rings? just because... any thought's? jojo
  22. Too funny.. I have a J-O-B now,. So,,,,, well anyway.. I just need to get my A$$ in gear after work.. :).
  23. Please dont feel like a dumbass... we all cant know it all.. You just learned something.. hat's off to you for keeping it upright, and no-one was hurt..
  24. what you saw with the walking suspension is not good.. those rears can move a little but what you saw..... hell no.. I am not picking at you right now.... but how long have you been driving Mack's, with camelback's???? It is a strong set-up, but like ANY other set-up. If it is not inspected and maintained..... Well...... You obviously know... I am glad that no one was hurt.. jojo
