  1. Onyx and sledog, look at the picture of the flywheel.. the single paint mark is where the 45 degree hash mark is.. where the 2 paint marks are, is the 2 half cut teeth for the sensor to pick up.... if the 45 degree mark is NOT 23 teeth from the first tooth that comes around when barring the engine, the ring gear has slipped.. just saying..
  2. 'F'......... You too.... 😘
  3. Buddy, I aint there, so I am trying my best to understand his posts, and there was more added to the posting, so then I start asking more questions, or think of crazy ideas... besides, it is running on the cam sensor only, so there is where Im at.. we'll get it, The team will get this fixed for him.. as far as the degree marks,,,, they start at '0' and go to 45 degree's.. its on the same edge that the valve adjustment marks are...right before 1&6 marking.. '0' is true TDC... jojo
  4. Yes Onyx, it is.. there really is a lot to do, but my goal is to get it to where I can drive it around town here and there, then do more repairs, as needed.. I need to look into converting the generator into a 12 volt generator/alternator... I really dont want to put a modern Delco on there, because I want the old timey look... but I may have to if I cant afford it.. I'm Poo,,, jojo
  5. Like I said... going out on a limb.. there was an issue with flywheel housing and or flywheel.. Im giving you some free tests to do, to ensure it is not something that would be missed, even though it is a far off possibility.. Most guys start throwing 'Laptop reccomended' parts at it spending thousands of dollars for nothing.. I laid out a simple check that can be done in an hour.. then if its good, you rule it out and move to another test.. as far ass the hash marks,,, have you ever seen the edge of an e-tech flywheel? or done a proper valve adjustment?
  6. you got one hell of a half inch gun buddy...
  7. ok, im going out on a limb... is the sensor hole in the same spot? here is a way to check the ring gear position with it all together.. ..... there are 2 half teeth that the sensor reads. if the ring gear is in the right position, those half teeth will be number 23+ 24, counting from the tooth that is at the 45 degree mark on the flywheel. start counting on that tooth, mark it with paint. set the 45 degree mark in the center of the sensor hole, then bar the engine over ( flywheel) will turn clockwise) count the teeth as you go. when yo see the first half tooth, your count should be at 23.. I hope i was clear enough.. jojo
  8. who put the after market flywheel in, and did it come with the ring gear already installed?
  9. Hell Yeah !! O.D.
  10. I got a little bit more done to "Sanford" The brakes work good, and I squirted a little paint on the rims, and hardware.. next is to continue with the new wiring.. I found that box of plug wires in a cabinet the other day. I got them 3 years ago when I bought the contents of a private garage.. I like it when my junk has new parts I can use..
  11. I always wanted a '62 Ford Camaro, with a 318 Slant six.
  12. I'm with LTK... I hope all is good with you Vlad....
  13. Sounds good. You should be ok..
  14. Replace it,. Did you pull the loom back and check integrity of the engine side of the wires..?
  15. Yes. 900- 1500 ohms. At around 70 degrees Faranheight... Test across the 2 pins in the plug... Jojo
  16. Sledog, if you find and fix a broken wire today, that may be all you need.. just saying..... Jojo
  17. I'm out of likes already.. this one's for you Onyx....😘
  18. Good deal... Easy free way to test them... You will have stored codes for the sensors.. make sure the wires on the truck side of the crank sensor are in good shape.. follow the wire about a foot or so from the plug.. they rot and break, and that may be the whole problem anyway... jojo
  19. You reckon oil pressure would fluctuate with a sloppy aux shaft? Good thought "V"....
  20. Is the coupler pressed on far enough. Are you using grade 10.9 metrics?
  21. yes it will run on one or the other... if you unplug one and it shuts off... the other one is bad...... 2 sensors.. one on the right front for the cam, and one on the left at around 10 o'clock on the flywheel housing..
  22. Glenn,,, I love the E-7,, But I also gained a respect for the E-tech.. Especially after the ASET's came out.... and then the MP came about, and well....... Give me an E-Tech any day... Jojo
  23. Now that is my quick take on the E-Tech... CCRS and ASET, Piss me off !!! especially the ASET-C...
  24. ok, I'll bite.... Weak eng. brake/ rocker shaft bolts/ fuel pump gear/ terrible bosch lifters/ slow throttle response/ early fuel pressure issues/ 9-2 codes/ oil weeping between the block and the flywheel housing/ coolant in the ECU harness/ ..... ok... I need to take some more time to think of more.... Hmmm?? jojo
