  1. ok, well its easy, the screws in the front of the panel come out, the 2' T-27/25 screws come out,, the screws on the side of the front. cover come out.. drop the front cover down an inch and pull it up out of the way. Dont forget to "recover" the freon while doing all this.. take hose clamp pliers or 2 small needle nose vise grips, and pinch the 2 heater hoses and remove them from the core nipples... yes,,,, I said Nipples... Good luck removing the expansion valve without breaking it, but you did say you were replacing everything... Whizz wheel, cut it out.. put the shifter into 5th gear to get it out the way... then remove the holder for the heater core and evap cond. and slide it out... oop's, remove the elephant snout at the firewall, if its still there... then pull the cores.. well, looks like a wrote a small book.. ok guy's, what did I leave out?? jojo
  2. no sweat... my sugestion is to get the survice buliten for the CV/CX/CH.... I dont want to write the book.. jojo
  3. Macks,,, I would hope they try to tax the Illegals that walked into our house with Joe Biden 'T-Shirts'.. since they obviously have a better contact to our guvment, than we do.. plus they have free I-Phones and baby formula, health care, travel, rent, ok, time to stop.. Next??? jojo
  4. I should hope you called Volvo..? I know in earlier trucks the ignition switches are stupid, I beleive there is a P.I.C. on the ign. switches.. jojo
  5. My wife used to haul lime out of the plant there in ripplemeade.. off rt.100 ,, she drove a Columbia with a 3 bay dry bulk trailer,, She drove for Johnson concrete, and supplied 4 plants with product.. Those pipes are from Johnson concrete.. I maintained their fleet for 7 1/2 years. jojo
  6. Im rusty, but isnt it behind the DEF tank?
  7. I have my Grandpa Franks purple heart from when he was shot in WWII.. All of us love and respect our veterans.. Thank you.... jojo
  8. well, i tried.. I guess it's a small picture... jojo
  9. I got a message showing that i was over the limit,, and the pic was blocked.. its ok,, thanks TJC..
  10. O.D. how are you able to post so many pictures? I am trying to post pic's, but I dont have enough MB's.. I reduced the pic size, but still cant post it.. I'm not trying to steal this thread,, maybe P.M. me with the answer... jojo
  11. I tried to post a pic of what I did on the corner of my property,(10 years ago), where my fence was hit several times by drunks and crackheads.. I have 3 , 18" by 6' concrete pipes that have steel mesh inside.. D.O.T. pipe.. 2 weeks ago an 18 wheeler flatbed came down my little street, but couldnt make the swing around my corner. I went out there with my forklift and picked it up on the ICC bumper and moved it to the middle of the turn so he could drive off.. His trailer was resting on my pipes.. anyway, i didnt photo the truck, my wife, who is also a driver, was instructing him from our fence, to tell him how to pull forward, while I was lifting him and putting him into place.. It was cool and I know a few of you would have had a laugh.. .. jojo
  12. 🤔
  13. did you replace the oil pump? if so, was it a PAI pump.. I just used 2 of them in a row, and low idle, fully warmed up, the pressure is around 30-32 PSI.. I have had 35 plus with Mack pumps. However, going down the road the PAI pumps make 50+.. jojo
  14. Sometimes it's no mystery how Biden got elected.. I was watch "Meet the Depressed" a few minutes ago. Yes it was about the abortion bill.. Some of the footage looked like a bunch of lesbians at a rally/parade, holding, "Keep abortion legal" sign's.. What do they have to worry about? They wouldnt know how to use a penis to make an unwanted baby anyway... Yep!!! That's how ... Dumb a$$'s.... jojo
  15. drain it through a strainer to catch any chunks.. I use a 6" trainer from the dollar store. the magnet plug's and tray will hold peices as R.E.D. said.. jojo
  16. To each his own... Luv U Bob... Jojo
  17. really Bob??? I guess you would need a gallon jug and a 3" paintbrush... jojo
  18. keep this in mind for future tranny issues... In most tranny's each gear has 2 positions.. so if you have an issue in a low side gear, the issue may be in the high side same gear stick position.. (barring a rear box synchro issue) an easy example is a 10 spd.. 1-5 is the same gears as 6-10... same stick positions.. lets say it pops out of 9th, does it do the same thing in 4th? same gear position, but different demands on the tranny.. still,, listen to the gear box.. (sample test here).. truth is... the shift pattern diagram in the truck show's what i'm talking about... jojo
  19. ok, so you have a small air line going to the power divider housing.. No sweat.. still easy to inspect if it goes that far.. let's keep it simple,, refer to my last post. Are you able to hear the noise in slow speeds under 35 MPH? if so,, if you are loaded and on dirt or loose gravel, you can engage the power divider to see if the noise changes or stops.. Don't do this on solid ground or roads above 25 MPH.. also, if your tire wear is mixed , like old tires with barely legal tread and new tires in any position,, on solid ground,,,, this test may make noise.. I cant really draw a good picture of a good testing area.. but I feel like you may be able to separate the sound from the tranny, to possibly the rear end, since you changed 2 bad u-joints, you are obviously narrowing it down.. jojo
  20. 'D Man' nice approach with the temp gun.. I feel like you are smart... jojo
  21. 'D-Man' i have an approach... underneath the rear of the top part of the housing has a 9/16" square plug, or if you have temp sensor then it is 1 1/16" deep chrome socket... remove it to drain the oil from the top reduction housing.. then take the (4) 9/16 headed bolt's out of the side cover. Then you will be able to inspect the top reduction gear set.. (Bevel pinion and Bevel gear) If you see Brinneling on the gear teeth, you may have just found the noise.. if this inspection is good, we can talk about looking at the power divider. Do you have auto power divider or a locker? jojo
  22. do you know how to weld plastic?? its actually easy to do.. jojo
  23. another thing,, when removing the butress bolts, the one behind the air compressor can be removed by taking the bottom plate of the compressor if it a bendix tu-flo. wabco leaves room to get the bolt out, and i forget if midlands have a lower cover.. I think they do.. point is, no need to pull the compressor unless you want to.. I just cut a new gasket out of a sheet and put it back on with Mack RTV when im done with the mains..
  24. like I said... drop the 13 caps, one at a time, inspect each and put it back up to hold the crank.. get a new bearing set, and yes,,, new rod bolt's, which I didnt mention,, and tidy up the bottom end.. small $$ for some security... at least you will know how the crank journals look, and if in the case something else starts 'a' knockin.. the backbone is good.. You will be able to inspect the cam and lifters while you are underneath. take the oil pump out of the way, you can also take the oil pump apart to inspect the impellers and the housing for major scratches on the bottom plate, and on the inside and the brass thrust washer, if equipped... on the upper housing, and pump shaft 'play' should be zero, the gear as well, which I'm sure survived.. put youre eyes on the parts,,, so you can see what you have... jojo
