  1. yes they are, but the threads on them SUCK, and may only get a couple uses out of one,,, but still a good idea, especialy in a pinch..
  2. Masterwelder,,,,, You may be on to something that will help a boat load of guys here... Awesome !!!
  3. RW's are my favorite.. I was able to drive a couple of them in the last 2 years. An E-9 powered dump truck and a couple E-6 powered ones.. Too bad neither one was mine.
  4. Well the Classified document 'thing' is tilting a bit to the left.. Lets see how long the list of excuses and denials will be.. I bet K.J.P. flips her lid during questioning..
  5. You may have a point there, Onyx...
  6. My guess is a combo of good meds on the outside, and good Booze to sterilize from the inside.. I know it works for me..
  7. You will need to remove the dog house to get to it.. Have you ever pulled that steel panel out? Just curious,, jojo
  8. I just looked back.. Onyx said EGR on DD came in 2003.. heck, I would think I'd remember that...
  9. I was kinda thinking like you 67,,. Im no DD guru either, but I sure have worked on a lot of them from the 90's to 2007.. anyway, I will follow this one and hope to learn something.. 🍻
  10. Is the air compressor new? If not....... Well....
  11. I bet the steel supply pipe coming off the air compressor is restricted by carbon build up.. Jojo
  12. Actually, I like fruit cake.. I will cut a slice and toast it in a pan with butter.. it's decent..
  13. How did the sleeper compare to a Century/Columbia 120? I has a '99 century and I loved it.. even though it was a plastic truck..
  14. Thanks Onyx.. I have worked on a lot of 12.7's and 14.0's.. I just dont remember EGR on a 12.7.. The 14.0's I worked on were '05 and later.. They had EGR's.. The series 60 is one engine that I wish I had learned to build.. I would 'Tool-up' for that one... Lot's of them still in service here.. Hopefully gio400 will come back with all the truck info and a few pic's... jojo
  15. The thing is, I made the call.. I called the number in the message.. It answered as Well Fargo Fraud Dept.. I was so concerned that I went through the phone call quickly.. I messed up.. I just hope they dont use my info for other activities.. I am dissapointed with myself.. I always pride myself on seeing this crap before hand.. I hope that others read this and all of the comments from "The Pound" and dont make my mistake.. Thanks to all of you... Jojo
  16. Yep, however, i dont recall seeing an EGR on a 12.7.. (of course I aint seen them all) I have also replaced intake gaskets, and C.A.C.'s, and on occasion, a turbo base gasket.. I like the 12.7.. I put it right up there with the E-7 Mechanical.. jojo
  17. It can work, but it is not as flexible, so directing it around corners or bending may be a small challenge.. I doubt it is passing through a narrow area where the larger diameter is a concern.. jojo
  18. yes its an oil line.. #4 braided line and some buildable fittings, and you can make the hose yourself, and repair it if something damages it in the future.. but you can also take it to a hose shop and get one made. I recommend braided line either way.. jojo
  19. Did it show the procedure to set the run-out on the flywheel housing? I wish I was smarter about E-6's.. I think the seal housing is seperate from the flywheel housing. Which may make it easier to install the new style rear mains.. then you can install the seal housing..... I was wondering if you should check run-out on the flywheel housing first while the crank hub is out in the open, then do the rear main seal.. I wonder what the Dog Pound thinks about that?? jojo
  20. Yes sir Mech. it sure is a lot of money for the tool, if you may not use it again.. The advantage of the tool, is that it can install a wear ring as well as the seal, and set it to the proper depth.. if a wear ring is not needed, I would say you could make a tool to set the seal in nice and straight.. Jojo
  21. Here is some info on the seal installer.. I have several tools from this company.. Monaco tools.com,,, tool #50112-A.... $595.00.
  22. Forgive me, but is a 675 still an E-6? Like an ENDT 673? If so, I bought a rear main seal tool for both E-7 and E-6, from Tillmantool.com.
  23. One common repair I have made on 12.7 series 60, was the air compressor supply hose that comes from the intake manifold to the air compressor intake..
