  1. next time you loose fuel prime, put the ether away, and loosen the small fuel line at the lift pump at the right front corner of the engine. pressurized the left tank with caution, when fuel bubbles out of the loose fitting, stop, tighten the fitting.. then loosen 3 fuel lines at the head, no need to remove the fuel line nut, just 2 full turns loose. and pump the primer, and gently pull the loose line out to get it to bleed. then tighten it. torque to about 40 lbft or so, (by feel if you need too) then back it off then re tighten to about 25lbft. do this to each line one at a time.. then crank it.. it will start, stumble, then clear out.. jojo
  2. good question 'F'... i read back a few posts, and I believe he has an ASET-C without an engine brake.. But I'm not so sure... I expect it to have a powerleash.. I dont think I ever worked on an ASET that didnt have an engine brake,,, if he has powerleash, we need to clarify the proper valve adjust steps,,, ceramic lifters dont like an incorrect adjustment.. jojo
  3. easy breezy.... barr the engine around to 1&6... then, look at the #2 exh. rocker arm (the front one)... exh. valves are to the front of the cylinders... it should be 'rocked' opening the exh. valve. that means you are up on #1.. if #2 exh. rocker is not rocked, then you are up on #6.... jojo
  4. Da na'da, senior Mario... Jose...
  5. do you have 'lo' or 'hi' range? does air contiuosly leak no matter if the range button is up or down? Lets say you have an Eaton 8LL or 13/18 spd. the shuttle valve is on the top left edge of the tranny. it has 3 rubber hoses that go to the rear range valves and a filter/regulator.. and 5 spaghetti lines from the shifter, red/blk/grn/wht/blue... ( I believe I am correct) the white one is the exhaust line.. someone please correct me if im wrong.. If its a 10 spd. the shuttle valve is on the top, front section of the shift cover. 1 main air supply 'in' 3/8" line, and 2 spaghetti lines from the shifter. blk/white... the white one goes to the right fitting on the shuttle valve, the black one goes to the left fitting. in this case you can just switch the lines at the shift knob, for ease of access.. back to the 8LL-13/18spd.. there would be no reason for them to remove the rubber lines, unless they saw damage or dry rot, or if you asked them to re-ring the range pistons.. however the 4 spaghetti lines have to be un hooked.. We will get this figured out, if all lines are connected correctly, you may have a bad o-ring on a range piston, causing an air 'by-pass' jojo
  6. what eaton tranny do you have.?
  7. heck, I didnt know you could write in Spanish... theres way more money to be earned as an interperator than a mechanic... jojo
  8. try to connect a separate battery to the ECU fuse in the box on the firewall next to the steering column.. should be #40.. ground the battery to the truck with a jumper cable, then run a 12-14 gauge wire from the positive post and strip the end of it , and pull the fuse and then lay the wire over the socket and push the fuse back in.. be careful not to over stretch the socket,,,,, or you can use one of those fuse connectors that has a blade for an extra circuit.. if the truck fires right up, I would say the starter is pulling too many amps and volts, and the EECU is not getting enough power to fire the EUP's.. jojo
  9. I deleted my post because I miss-understood the info.. its an ASET-C... I hate them,,, they are SH!T... Mackpro will be the best for this since he is current on todays info.. jojo
  10. Happy birthday sir....  Jojo

  11. no no no... its a plug... a human put it in wrong... next time you pull a front cover, remove it, clean it, dope it and put it back in,,,, 'tight'.. that's all....
  12. to be clear, my grand parents came to N.Y.C. through Ellis island, from Italy.. Both my grandpa's, Mickey and Frank,,, fought in W.W.II. for us.. I still have grandpa Frank's Purple Heart, from his shot to his head, that he survived, obviously... I get sick over this freebie B.S. for so many reasons.. and the Biden KLAN... just makes it worse... God Bless America... jojo
  13. it caps the line bored fuel return gallery. who knows, mabey they were going to make a straight 8 and thought they could add 2 cyl's to it... next time you pull and EUP.. look in the bore. you will see 4 holes. 2 on each side, over and under. those are the fuel galleries... jojo
  14. So i'm watching my local Biden news channel,,, Now.... the welfare people are ordering thier freebies, on-line... The reporter literally said, that THEY may have alergies,, and oh, by the way... "ethnic preferences" on what food item's they would RATHER have... Really???? My grandparents had to WALK up to the the food bank, CHEESE and BREAD lines, and take what was given.. ( 1930's-40's) So, these slug's, are getting what they want for FREE,, But My wife goes to the store, and is buying store brands to save money.... and now they are talking about free health care for non-american's... I know I can switch the channel, but, I have to watch this B.S., because I can not beleive this B.S. is real... what the HELL???? jojo
  15. for sure, Bob.....
  16. Man I'm glad I got out of the Dealership when I did... I dont have patience for the B.S. in these new engines.. I would like to think that building them would create better mechanic's, but..... anyway... glad im away from Volvo's... jojo
  17. I was waiting for someone to stop me.... Hell I've done many of these engines, but that doesnt mean I know it ALL,, But, yes sir I was glad that I caught my BooBoo.. I drove the truck today... It purrred like a Dog... .. tomorrow it goes out to haul dirt... that will be the real test.. jojo
  18. steeler, I just found the hidden fuel plug loose on the E-Tech just built.. You nailed that one.. and yes the tools are priceless... jojo
  19. its an ASET-IEGR... is it just slow to pull? I bet it has the power to get it done... and with a 13 spd, I dont see how it could be weak.. My guess it has 442:1 Mack rears. Has some one messed with the EECU programming? Macks are slow and deliberate... but they will pull hard... lets see what the other guy's say... jojo
  20. wow, that is amazing.. before common rail came around, , I used a very long 3/8" extension that I welded together, and a swivel at the end with the barring tool on it wrapped in electrical tape to keep it in place plus a wrap of electrical tape around the extention where it goes right by the starter, so I dont arc off it.. and it goes all the way up front, so I can roll the engine and see the marks on the front of the cam.. I literally, stayed right there in one place, and I placed magnets on the engine to hold my feeler gauges and wrenches.. of course my set up is crude, but if my phone battery dies, I can still finish running the rack,,, jojo
  21. I just did 2 Mack cams in the last 3 weeks.. I have an infrared temp gun. 475-500 on the gun.. not supposed to go past 500 degrees, but the temp gun is a little 'off'.. so 475-500, with the temp gun.. I have not warped a cam gear yet... I also don't think i will anyway. I use a medium sized, counter top airfryer toaster oven, that really only heats to about 500 degrees.. $65.00 at Wal-Mart.. (Black and Decker).... jojo
  22. I dont know how to reduce the MB's in order to post.. and , by the way, I would build one with you for free, well, mabey for some free beer and chit-chat... jojo
  23. Sir. i am not from from V.A. just live in Rowan county N.C. all good, jojo
