  1. your doing good Paul, to use this chart to the fullest, the carrier needs to be taken apart.. as far as the spur and bull gear, my bet is they will remain. the top reduction (bevel gears) is where you will make your adjustment, however,, i have always built these with stock replacement sets, and I would use the mearsurements for shimming, and to make sure I had the right gears.. I also wish It wasnt 5 or 6 years ago when I built one.. you can also count the teeth on the gears and dived them into each othe to get the 2 gear ratios, (bevel gears + Spur and bull gear)... I hope others will come in and add to or correct me if needed... You Got this Mate... Jojo
  2. an oil analisys is the best way, but the quickest way I can tell is by smell, (if its really bad),, sight, (very thin) and not milky, (thats coolant).. and lastly, I do a 'Halo test'... get a clean piece of cardboard, the common kind, not the shinny kind.... take it to the engine, pull the dipstick and let it drip one good drip on the card board, then watch... if a halo forms around the oil droplet in a few seconds, the oil is contaminated.. diesel will seperate itself from the oil quickly... basically it will look like a mini black sunny side up egg.. oil in the middle sitting on top of the cardboard, and the fuel will soak into the cardboard around the oil.. Jojo
  3. I see you are getting some good advice on diagnostics.. Did you happen to put a gauge in one of the oil gallery ports to see if the oil pressure is truly low?? I have one on a 12 foot long hose, it rides in the cab with me when I test drive...
  4. Fuel in the oil can surely cause low oil pressure.. I just went through this with 2 E-Techs in July.. . Good luck. Jojo
  5. May God Bless you Rowdy......
  6. P.A.I. sells great bearing sets and oil pumps, for about half price.... Ask me how I know?? jojo
  7. Oh yeah, one more thing...... I don't feel the need to jump from my N.Y.C. High rise apartment... Just sayin'...... I ain't that impotent........
  8. Thanks Bob.. I'm ok... just get 'pissy' quite often.. So now that I work for my city, I will let them handle the "G-Men" and I will just cash my paycheck.. 13 years of being a sole proprietor, has led me to this decision... I'm GOOD!! Now I can fix Mack's and the engines and do like the mexican's do...... TAX FREE.... yes I said it on a public feed.. so what???? They do it in front of all of our face's... Luv U man.... jojo
  9. I love it Rubber Duck... So true... jojo
  10. that picture was on here before, but I cant remember when.. I like the truck, the bumper is a bit much, but thats what happens when you have the money and the idea, jojo
  11. Wouldnt bother me.... I want to move the load, not win the race... however, if you have to haul many loads in a day, the bossman will be on youre a$$.. I did a few years in construction pulling dump trailers and some 'wheeler work',, I always was 1 or 2 loads / day shy of the seasoned guys, But I never tried to get a speeding ticket as well.. anyway.... jojo
  12. there is no 5.29:1 on my chart,,, Vlad is a reliable person, for sure... jojo
  13. 5.32 is a legit ratio. I have a chart that I want to send you but I dont have a phone number to text to, or an e-mail.. of course I respect one's privacy.. ... Jojo
  14. looks like 5.32 : 1
  15. is there a lot of water in the tanks, that is taking up room for air? and to the best of my memory a typical brake application uses 15-20 PSI. so 4 applications will be 60-80 PSI of usage.. are all of the rear brake chamber's 30's? (30 cubic inches) ... jojo
  16. part number 10500 Sealco... Air is supplied through another port, that valve screws to the tank is is fed directly, there is a brass filter screen inside the supply port.. many trailers have this valve... jojo
  17. Paul, For some reason I am not able to send pictures to my Email from my phone. I have a picture of a chart that may help you, but my normal way of sending pictures is not working.. Hopefully, when you clean the paint off the front of the carrier housing, you will see the series and ratio.. i expect it to be 112/113 series.. I'm trying, Jojo
  18. Sweet looking rig, Is it in Maine? I see you are in So. Maine.. I graduated from Gray New Glouscter High school in '87.. jojo
  19. I believe back then, 1980, they still stamped the info on the front just below the input housing, on the smooth curved part of the main housing..
  20. About a 1:400 ratio...
  21. How about putting Stanadyne in the fuel filters and the tanks, and running it hard? Jojo
  22. Oh hell. Are there wheels on the landing gear, so it can roll away when you try to hook it? 😅
  23. I wish I could leave N.C. it's purple, turning blue, and run by a bunch with their hands out for gov. $.. I can't believe that a Southern State went soft... Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie... and everything here is about racism now.... and people like me pay into the General Fund to support the Race Baiters ... Sometimes I miss living in Maine, but the taxes and low wages and Liberals, is why I left... Maybe Arkansas is the place to go????
