  1. Mackpro, Interesting take on pressing the cam gear.. I just finished 2 in-frames last month.. so far no codes, but I also take car in pressing the gear off, and baking it right, before dropping it on.. I too remember doing cam after cam job back in the early 2000's.. crazy sh!t.. jojo
  2. the 310 is strong, is yours an "M" multi speed reverse... I love multi speed reverse.. jojo
  3. do you feel like they should drop all 13 bearing caps and check for wear? I would, hell get a set of bearings from PAI and roll them in just because.. jojo
  4. there is a spec for cam shaft run out.. but tell me why every time I pull a cam, the thrust washer shows almost no wear.. am I wrong? as far as a different timing cover,, i truly dont know, other than the ASET-C I just built.. which had another 2, 10mm bolt hole topside. So tell me where the 'runout' would occur? I would like to know if I am missing something, before I build another E-Tech/ASET.. jojo
  5. yeah just take the shim off, put it in your pocket, and run the truck again.. yes there are 2 availble shims. yours is probably .030" .. see what happens.. jojo
  6. 8LL Eaton is a great tranny.. The 310M is also great.. Myself.. when I drove dump trucks. I learned to love multi speed reverse.. My first was the 1070B and the X107 twin stick.. however, the 2013/2018, will get the job done... you'll need to have the get the drive shaft re-done.. anyway, you are in a great place for REAL knowledge.. jojo
  7. maybe a 2013/2018?? We'll see what the 'Dog Pound' say's... lots'a smart guy's here that can spec out a good truck.. jojo
  8. Im just curiuos?? does it really make a difference if it's an E-9 instead a 6 cylinder, since it is gear driven and not counting electric pulses from a distributer in a gas engine? I ask because I would expect this to be easy to replace.. jojo
  9. thats cool, N.Y. City used to put plows on their MR trash trucks.. MR's Kick A$$.. jojo
  10. back in the '80's.. we lived in Maine, on a country road.. 6 houses in a 2 mile stretch, our house was 500 feet off the road,, (Perfect place to live) anyway, same issue, someone kept hitting our mail box. the tire marks made it look like they pulled up to it and pushed it over.. At night we could see the headlights when they did it.. then they would squeal the tires as they left. pretty 'Ballsy' ... My Dad went out there and dug a hole were the tire marks were, away from where the mail truck ran. he put a piece of plywood over the hole, and covered it back up with the sand that was around the mail box.. It worked.. when they came back and fell in the hole,, we could here the tires spinning trying to get out.. My dad couldnt get to the end of the long driveway, before they got un-stuck and left.. That was the last time.... accept for when someone put a snake in it.. jojo
  11. Here in my 'Hood'.. my mailbox stays put, it can spin if hit.. We just have 'Drive by shootings' Like the one last monday.. 20 rounds were fired.. anyway, just lookin for a laugh.. Jojo
  12. I thought I was wrong on that, and yesterday I just worked on an E-9 Superliner and didnt open the hood to look.. I guess I was thinking about location.. Shame on me.. Your right Terry... I shouldnt have posted.. jojo
  13. send some pics of it getting painted, when you get a chance.. jojo
  14. It only growls in 7th and not 4th also? Definately make sure the driveline is tight, do you feel the noise in the stick? Im trying to keep this simple, sometimes rear ends can send a sound through the driveshaft, it is a tube... ok, keep in touch.. jojo
  15. can you unhook it and put a drill on it and spin it to see if the tach head works? you will need to be sure the cable is pushed all the way into the sheath, so you may only have a nub to chuck in the drill.. jojo
  16. wouldnt the RD/DM/RB/ .. be the same tach? I assume electric tach in this case? If so then there should be plenty of donor trucks to pick from.. jojjo
  17. the rear one has ABS bores for the sensors.. no biggie,
  18. yes 880Joe,, Mark? its a front housing... How much do you want for it? jojo
  19. speaking of Mack Banjo housing's.. This is one of my current job's. 2005 CXN-613.. I tried to find a housing at salvage and DEX, but, no luck.... Had to buy from Mack... $5200.00, and the axle for that side was $635.00.. Volvo is doing a great job at trying to destroy small trucking companies.. I should have the parts by friday.. Slow to ship these High dollar parts for some reason.. Jojo
  20. Do you really believe any of this??? I had it once.. I have a buddy who claims he got it 3 times,,, he is also collecting dissability for 25 years now, but he rides bicycles, runs, and cut s firewood, and anything else about yard work... This is all rigged,,, however, I bet the handlers are trying their best to keep the King out of the spotlight, (politically) and using the Kung Flu as a reason... Hell, you tell me??? I have more, but, dont feel like writing a book... jojo
  21. what are you trying to 'time'? i am not familiar with the piezo thing. are you looking for an injection pump timer, or a photo tach? and what engine are you working on for this need? jojo
  22. I feel like you are doing a good job to get this fixed.. stay on the simple stuff first path... keep in touch,, a couple other guy's here are still active within dealership's and have fleet's and the software to fix them. They will have more info for you if what you are doing doesn't get it done.. good group of guys here,, jojo
  23. have you had any recent EECU programming done? You should have the 'Smart fan' system? It is electric? right?
  24. I just looked back to the first post... 2007? ASET or MP engine?
