  1. I tried again... it wont load, only 2.3 mb, but its too big... WTF?? sorry bud... jojo
  2. it is on top of the oil filter pad, above the centrimax.. 3 wires?? jojo
  3. So heres a new one for me.... I just finished repairing a DPF in an '09 CXU.. I put a new Differential pressure switch on it... no sweat.. while I was finishing the installation , out of nowhere, the D.P.S. popped open.... it just separated itself.. .. I tried to load a picture but for some reason it wont load.. has this happened to anyone? it's my first.. out of dozens of these repairs... jojo
  4. Hummm ??
  5. yes sir,,, I have cut dozens of E-7's when I worked at Mack dealerships.. I have already cut an E-Tech here at my shop. I would like to read the procedure to do cat's and cummins,, the tool I have states that it will work for many' not all cats and cummins, I just need to buy the correct cutter plates and carbides.. thanks Glenn, jojo
  6. hey Bob, I keep a tube of 'Palm grease' on my service truck... jojo
  7. yes Hayseed,, you are right, my 3 kids are 'Pup's'' but they need me too.. thank you sir, jojo
  8. Im sure this will work,, like i said before, it wont be a big money maker, but it will be another service, hell, i bet if I go to a company and cut the counter bores, i bet they ask me "How much to finish the engine"? that has happened before with other jobs i was a 'Part' of,. I end up finishing it because when they ask me about my knowledge and history, they say, 'why dont you just finish it for us',... just sayin'... jojo
  9. Yes Mark, you are correct, I have several connections who have gotten work for me. and I have already spoken to a couple of them in my travels this week.. the more I think about it, the more im leaning towards word of mouth, referrals, and such.. The machine shop i use does not cut counter bores in big truck engines, so I will be talking to him when I pick up my engine parts.. maybe I could go there and do the cutting and they bill their customer,, jojo
  10. ok,, for some reason I dont see that info, just his question with what looks like a typo.. thanks Onxy, I will set back and watch, I dont know about deletes.. :) jojo
  11. ASET C is a totaly different harness. 3 plugs on the EECU, compared to 2 plugs on the ASET I.. cam is different, turbo, exh. manifold, EGR cooler, intake manifold, water pump, im sure I forgot some other differences.. i hope i understood the question correctly, seems like a 'typo' in the original post... jojo
  12. Snowdog and Bob good points, and yes, when I am at truck shows, hopefully with my '48 Int. this year, I can easily strike up conversations. Yes, I have worked for a few guys that I wished I didnt work for, and I have lost money, oh well.. most of my customers are good people that pay quickly. and one of the engines in my shop is from one of our BMT brother's... jojo
  13. Terry, you are right, I already have a bunch of work right now. I just want to add one more important service to my list, to help keep the flow of work. And yes, many times a 2-3 hr job turns into a sh!tshow, and-or parts issue, like 3 of my current jobs, and lets not forget waiting on a machine shop. I have parts for 2 engines at a shop for 3 weeks now.. I will call again to check, I just dont want to be too much of a pest, because I need them more then they need me.. jojo
  14. I see a lot of them crack on the top right corner and run down. glad its fixed.. jojo
  15. yes sir... I get rained on and sometimes 'rained out' one advantage of being a Yankee in the south is that when its cold outside here, I can still work, because I dont feel it until it gets below 20 degrees, which is rare.. lol...
  16. pid 100 is oil pressure.. fmi 04 is low voltage... jojo
  17. Thanks Bob.. I am waiting on all the info and instructions for my new tool. I wrote to the tool company today. I see it will work on Cat C-10/12/13... and many Cummins, except ISX.. I also saw John Deere, somewhere as well. I dont expect to make tons of money with this tool, I would like to cut back on the hard physical work that I do with regards to truck repair, and focus more on engine repair and builds.. Who know's.. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.. jojo
  18. the multi buzzer is under the left corner of the dash in front of the clutch pedal.. there is a triangular brace with a about a 2" hole in it. the buzzer is bolted behind it.. jojo
  19. I did look into some other forms of advertising on-line.. I used google for a while, and it was only $12/ month. I got a lot of calls.. I went back to try it again, and the fee's were up near $1.50/ day for the minimum service, or 'pay per click' I used Yelp once with the 'Pay per Click' option.. I would view my page on a regular basis only to find out that ' Pay per Click' didnt exclude 'me' looking at my own page... it cost me over $400/month. that is way too expensive for me,, back to Google, prices were pretty high as well.. jojo
  20. interesting view there, 67Rmodel... one opinion i didnt consider.. I would have only posted on FB, and stopped there, other than post cards and walk-in sales calls.. Thanks..
  21. Thank's to all you guy's.. I really appreciate the mixed opinions.. I think I will look into FB, but I also have 100 post cards already printed up, so I will use some old timey selling, and open a phonebook and find companies that may need my services. now about price.. I was thinking $250.00 to show up and do 1 hole, and $50.00 each hole after that... any thought's? please be honest... some of you have seen my service truck, and my operating range is 30 miles, and diesel is $5/gallon, here, so there is where my price comes from......jojo
  22. good points 67... I have been lucky, somehow im pretty clear about immediate payment, and they pay me.. I keep a 'Square' debit card swipy-thing with me at all times, and add 5% to cover usage fee's. and yes less time on BMT.. I still take some time in the morning, like right now.. I do need to get back out there... jojo
  23. I stopped advertising a while back because I have many customers, and they keep me steadily busy, and they tell others about me which helps too....... I think that going to local shops and fleets is the way to go... I can start out with the Mack fleets then as I get more adapters and tools I can spread out.. I guess i'm like a Mack, slow and deliberate.. I am only 1 guy, and I get backed up quickly, I have 3 customers that I need to visit as it is, plus 3 engines in my shop, and an F-250, and a CXU-613 outside, that i'm fixing the DPF in.. Phewww... Thanks, 'F' jojo
  24. I just have Mack info and that cutter head. the tool I bought will bolt to cat and john deere engines, I just need the cutter heads.. I need to do more research on tooling, however, in my area there are a lot of macks... jojo
