  1. Thank's to all you guy's.. I really appreciate the mixed opinions.. I think I will look into FB, but I also have 100 post cards already printed up, so I will use some old timey selling, and open a phonebook and find companies that may need my services. now about price.. I was thinking $250.00 to show up and do 1 hole, and $50.00 each hole after that... any thought's? please be honest... some of you have seen my service truck, and my operating range is 30 miles, and diesel is $5/gallon, here, so there is where my price comes from......jojo
  2. good points 67... I have been lucky, somehow im pretty clear about immediate payment, and they pay me.. I keep a 'Square' debit card swipy-thing with me at all times, and add 5% to cover usage fee's. and yes less time on BMT.. I still take some time in the morning, like right now.. I do need to get back out there... jojo
  3. I stopped advertising a while back because I have many customers, and they keep me steadily busy, and they tell others about me which helps too....... I think that going to local shops and fleets is the way to go... I can start out with the Mack fleets then as I get more adapters and tools I can spread out.. I guess i'm like a Mack, slow and deliberate.. I am only 1 guy, and I get backed up quickly, I have 3 customers that I need to visit as it is, plus 3 engines in my shop, and an F-250, and a CXU-613 outside, that i'm fixing the DPF in.. Phewww... Thanks, 'F' jojo
  4. I just have Mack info and that cutter head. the tool I bought will bolt to cat and john deere engines, I just need the cutter heads.. I need to do more research on tooling, however, in my area there are a lot of macks... jojo
  5. I am trying to figure out the best way to sell counterbore cutting service.. I have been told to use facebook, but i am not sure how to use it. what are the options? jojo
  6. still awesome... my bet it s an ASET-I.. jojo
  7. no i cant follow it,, it does make me laugh.. now my head started hurting.. going back to watch'in 'open range' on t.v.... jojo
  8. you have an ASET... do you have the big turbo? That makes it an ASET-C.. jojo
  9. Hey Onyx... This is my favorite topic!! I love it !.. I bet this one gets thousands of posts over the years... us guy's just love to 'Talk Shop".... Jojo
  10. nice,,, I actually put a 'cammed up' 400 in it a few years ago.. I could put on one hell of a show,,,, but.... I couldnt 'work him' like i used too.. I would go to get supplies and I either had to drive through the parking lot at 3000 rpm in the granny gear, or work the clutch in 1st,,,,,, just to find a parking spot... what the hell was I thinking??? i tell you what,,, I was the 'Sh!t' in 2nd gear on any city street, just sayin.... so I pulled it and put the worn out 350 back in.. I need to re-build the 400 with a towing cam, and mabey even put the rebuilt 2bbl back on it... jojo
  11. TJC,, here is 'Old Blue' When he was born in '77, he was a C-20.. I had him since 2006... He had a 350 eng. 350 tranny.. a few years ago I aquired a '78 C-30.... so me and my best employee, took the trucks apart..... so now 'Old Blue' is a C-30, I put pedals in it and now it is a 350 with a Granny gear 4 spd.. I run this truck almost every day... It smells like like a beat up push mower when it runs, but I wouldnt trade it for a new one.. my wife say's I love it more than i do her... Hmmm...? p.s. Charlie just layed down to be in the picture, what a HAM... jojo
  12. they were... i saw an updated one recently that had a 'hex' shaped spindle instead of the round knurld one of days ago... jojo
  13. I get it,,, ive worked on a few duramax's cab off.... well worth the effort to pull it.. jojo
  14. I fixed the low power part, when I repaired the boost plug, and the VGT plug, and one other that I think is oil temp... I dont know about Ford's, accept for the fact that they circled the problem right on the hood,, I did some reading and learned about the stand pipes.. the other fixes was my ,,, 'fix what you know is broke first' approach... I have turned down 6.0 repairs in the passed, but I may try to take 'em on in the future... jojo
  15. I forgot tie rod ends on the ford as well.. everything was wicked loose,, it was hard to keep in the lane.. jojo
  16. I did use it yesterday to load my beer can tote on the back of "Old Blue" got $32.00 for the cans at the scrap yard,,, just sayin.... jojo
  17. Too funny, TJC.. I do have a green bean can zip tied, on the ROPS to hold my 16 oz bev's... jojo
  18. 2009 CXU-613.. I put an engine harness on it, and when I cranked it up, the floor pan and dog house was out, and the DPF and the Bellows pipe were leaking really bad and filled the sleeper with "Whale Killing" exhaust.. anyway, the DPF is on the forks, I was putting it back together. I'm still waiting on some parts, the big 'V' clamps are on back order,,, go figure???? so thats this "Shop talk"... I do have an F-250 (6.0 l) diesel in my shop.. I just finished doing the front axle assemblies, all ball joints, brakes, rotors, calipers, and hubs, and a steering stabilizer.. plus I put a radiator in it and fixed 3 plugs on the engine harness, because it had no power and was smoking really bad... It also had an issue restarting after it warms up and drives. that last part is what I'm doing.. This truck is the gift that keeps on giving... kinda like Herpes's... I already bought a stand pipe kit, but I'm going to pressurize it to see if that IS the issue.. jojo
  19. Here is a picture of my best employee.. He works hard in any weather, and he can lift a bit more than I can.. jojo
  20. yes Terry, it is.. of course it could just be torn down and stuck back together, but how long will it live? I posted that info so he could see what is involved before he takes it apart.. hope to see more comments for him,, jojo
  21. replacing the outer cam requires the removal of the input/ bevel pinion housing. Pay attention to the shim pack thickness for the housing, and the shim for the outer cam. if you attempt this, you will need to make a jig that holds the outer cam in place so it cant rotate, and it will be bolted to the housing as well. then the big nut inside is torqued to around 1300 lbft. if you get this apart, decide on bearing condition. then when you put it back together, you have to press the outer cam in place, as a completed assembly. the pressure is 10,000 PSI.. wrap a string around the housing several times, and pull the string and pull the string with a 'fish scale' from youre tackle box. reused bearing pull at 2-5 llbs, new bearing pulls at 3-6 lbs. this will indicate proper bearing preload. adjust the shim thickness as needed.. once that is done then you need to torque that skinny nut to around 1300lbft. once done then you put the assembly into the carrier housing with 2 bolts holding it in place, and check the tooth pattern for the bevel pinion and the bevel gear, use Prussian blue gel to set the 'root' good, adjust the pattern using the thin shims for the input housing. it is highly possible that the original shim pack will be correct. if so, put her together.. good luck to you, jojo
  22. i forgot to say, I have a Colt MK III police model in .38 spl. and I also have a Colt Army 1917 revolver, in .45 ACP... it's a real one,, it is shot-out, but it's still cool...
  23. I love it,, I have a 1911 .45 ACP, made by Thompson, I just went shopping last week for a trapdoor revolver in .45 Long colt, no luck.. I do have a "Judge" though.. is the other one a peace maker in .357? jojo
  24. the big one is a single action .22LR... I can hit anything with it... the other is "Big Dan" .44Mag. *" ported and heavy lug.. single handed shooting is easy.. 6" group at 50' single action.. is easy to do.. jojo
  25. Onyx, you had to go and say Dan Wesson.. these are my 2 and I also have an M&P 9mmx17 wish I hadnt sold my J-Frame .38 Spl. however, i did replace it with a Taurus feather lite +P... jojo
