  1. gotch'a... I think i would be un-easy, because I wouldnt be able to 'Feel' the truck react to my downshifting and braking.. and I think I would rather let off the throttle, along with smooth braking, to slow down, than to use the engine brake.. dont know, its been a long time since I drove professionally... jojo
  2. some more thoughts??? I have never driven an automatic tranny truck, so help me with this? how do you gear down safely when you come up on a bad situation? can you incorporate down shifting and smooth braking to get slowed down without skidding? When I was a full time driver. I drove in the northeast 75% of the time. I spent a lot of time in P.A. / M.A. / Upstate N.Y. / V.T. / N.H. / M.E. (my home) / C.T. , well anyway. I was nervouse driving in my first snow storms, but I made it and I studied the conditions. yes at times I was one of the slower big trucks, but I made it.. just curious, jojo
  3. I know I wasnt there,, but the footage I saw repeated on the news 20 times, showed vehicles going very fast when they wrecked.. I used to 'truck' all over P.A. and learned quickly how it snows there.. for example, heading across I-80 through 'Snowshoe' .. a C.B. was the way to get updates on 'everything'. I hope i dont sound like an a$$.. My heart is with the dead and injured.. jojo
  4. do you have any codes? also, check fuse 40 or 41, in the fuse box that is on the firewall (left side).. jojo

  7. Hey JoeH, Thanks for that last post. I have been asked several times if I could put the E-Tech cam in their ASET I engines and I felt I could but didnt know how. I hope I find that old posting to read more.. thanks again ,,Jojo
  8. the last 2 RW's I worked on had E-6 4Valve engines, with Ambach pumps, lift pump did not have a primer, and the tach cable was going into the top of aux. drive shaft housing, driven off the aux. drive shaft.... jojo

  12. its all good, Mech.. I will be drinkin beer,,, my ears will be opened wide.. and every once in a while i may say some junk... jojo
  13. fill the truck with air, if it leaks down quickly, use shop air so the truck isnt running all the time.... loosen a pressure switch gently to see if air bleeds off... if it does, mark it and tighten it back up... do this until you find one that doesnt leak off..... then, put a stick or a shortened load bar like i have on the brake pedal and up to what ever will hold it down,, and see if that pressure switch that didnt leak off , leaks off now. with the pedal pushed.. .. that would be the brake light switch.. mark it well, and continue with youre search... you can take the 2 wires off the pressure switch, and cross them and the brake lights should be lit.... jojo

I tuned it up . tap the pedal hit the key, and Vroom.. it has sat for so long that it does smell like a push mower for a minute or so,, but when you drive it....
