just need to clear this up.... I remove the rubber ring from the yoke... i do not cut the dirt seal lip off the pinion seal... the rubber ring, in my world has has dirt inside therefore cutting the dirt seal lip on the pinion seal.. jojo

Man, I wish I was born into this 20 year's earlier.... I pull my hair out a lot.. I currently have a Mack E-tech in my shop for one of our "Brothers" here at BMT.. I'm greatful for it, because I know I can Give him a good running E-tech.. I am not 'cocky' by any mean's,,, but more guy's like me need to come out and get these machines up and running, for those that need them. There is so much knowledge here, that it gives me a bunch of relief. I take these Mack's to heart... I know I am off topic, I'm just talking to you and who ever else understands.... jojo

Mechohaulic.... im a young'n.... '53 next month..... so many times I wish I had a 100 foot chicken barn, I would buy all these old rejected tools and try to build parts.... brake shoes, alternators, starters, steering boxes, ect... I really wish I new how to build injection pump's.... to me that would be great... Dammit!!! jojo

This crap remind's me of when I bought my first and only big truck back in late 2005... Oh My God... How the hell is the little guy gonna survive?? I know big guy's have high cost's. But what keeps the seed's of new business,'s in wet soil and sunlight,,,, so they can grow???? jojo

heck, I have 2 sets of Mack tranny manuals, plus a bunch more. I'm only wanting $550.00 / set U.S. shipping is free... but no takers.. so I guess they will sit in my library.. They are worth much more, but I feel like i'm realistic.. I know what I pay for book's and I use them as well.. anyway... I hope you score, Bob.... Jojo

yeah that seems like a stretch... hell, is there a law dog that would even know what they are looking at? as long as they are the same style and 'Length' positioned in the same holes, I dont see a problem........ and I too, tried to buy auto slacks for a steer axle last week. i gave them the part number on the slack adjuster, (Mack dealer)... they said, I cant help you, I need a VIN and need to see them.. I explained the truck was an '86 Superliner. "Well I need a VIN"... what a pain in the A$$... jojo

if the yoke is installed, just take a box cutter to it.... gone.. new yoke, slide it off and give to youre purse puppy as a chew toy.. just sayin' ... if i'm wrong... well the forum will say so.... jojo

and another thing... get rid of the rubber "Dirt holder inner" ...I toss those out.... Can someone please tell me that I'm wrong, and why??? I like the yoke to be able to sling the dirt off rather than keep it jammed in there to cut the outer seal lip and get inside and cut a groove on the yoke.... jojo

Heck I just spent $75 on one Midliner book similar in size to the ones in the big binders.. If you can get the whole mess for under $500.00, I would say you are doing good.. jojo

no biggie... right?? so the rear drive does most of the pushing, therefore the temp is higher.. and with a clogged vent, the pressure has to go some where, just a thought.... Jojo

Too funny, My old pal's name was "Jim" from Kentucky.. so there is still a clutch cable, but it has an air assist cylinder at bell housing.. there should be an exhaust on it. I would think if it was clogged, there would be a slow release issue.. who know's... he said it works fine now... Mabey its a female assist valve.. jojo

Mark T has some good points, oil life and valve adjustment.. I am very particular about the valve adjustment... I have actually upset a couple guys about it, but..... I don't care... I dont break lifters.... jojo

The Granite truck is a good one, It replaced the RD. The ASET I is way better thatn the 'C' series.. Do you know how to tell the difference by looking at the engine? Good luck, jojo

Toyota, you are fine.. there is a boatload of knowledge here.. I'm glad that the mechanic you know is a good one.. Here in central N.C. the issue's are the same. I left the dealership 13+ years ago and went out on my own as well. I did try to go back to the dealership, I lasted 2 years, and couldnt handle the inside politics, and seeing customers get hit hard in the pocket. Keep in touch with us.. Jojo -
I always tell my customers to buy the 9 spring 7 paddle easy pedal clutch.. It's my go-to clutch... just my opinion.. jojo

If the clutch is not slipping, then the pressure plate is engaging the clutch and therefore returning... did the return spring on the pedal under the dash, take a crap? is the air assist cyl. not bleeding off instantly causing a slow and or incomplete pedal return? 'F' a damn air assist clutch... Eaton easy pedal is as easy as it needs to be...

I was waiting to give another opinion.... You say you are 'just a girl' please be smart and confident about what you have... Go forward with caution, and pay attention to the seasoned guys here at BMT... The truck is amazing... I have the priviledge to work on some of these beauties. I have a friend who is very successful, and he calls on me to do certain repairs when needed, or when he buys another one that needs love... I wish you well, maybe you need to learn how to drive it.. just sayin' you may love it... jojo

does your friend have Premium Tech Tool, or a professional equivalent? Please go in with caution... 'changing parts' isn't just 'changing parts' on these Volvo's.. you can easily cause more issues.. So please study up on this... if your friend had VED12 knowledge, then He may be close enough... jojo
