Too funny, My old pal's name was "Jim" from Kentucky.. so there is still a clutch cable, but it has an air assist cylinder at bell housing.. there should be an exhaust on it. I would think if it was clogged, there would be a slow release issue.. who know's... he said it works fine now... Mabey its a female assist valve.. jojo

Mark T has some good points, oil life and valve adjustment.. I am very particular about the valve adjustment... I have actually upset a couple guys about it, but..... I don't care... I dont break lifters.... jojo

The Granite truck is a good one, It replaced the RD. The ASET I is way better thatn the 'C' series.. Do you know how to tell the difference by looking at the engine? Good luck, jojo

Toyota, you are fine.. there is a boatload of knowledge here.. I'm glad that the mechanic you know is a good one.. Here in central N.C. the issue's are the same. I left the dealership 13+ years ago and went out on my own as well. I did try to go back to the dealership, I lasted 2 years, and couldnt handle the inside politics, and seeing customers get hit hard in the pocket. Keep in touch with us.. Jojo -
I always tell my customers to buy the 9 spring 7 paddle easy pedal clutch.. It's my go-to clutch... just my opinion.. jojo

If the clutch is not slipping, then the pressure plate is engaging the clutch and therefore returning... did the return spring on the pedal under the dash, take a crap? is the air assist cyl. not bleeding off instantly causing a slow and or incomplete pedal return? 'F' a damn air assist clutch... Eaton easy pedal is as easy as it needs to be...

I was waiting to give another opinion.... You say you are 'just a girl' please be smart and confident about what you have... Go forward with caution, and pay attention to the seasoned guys here at BMT... The truck is amazing... I have the priviledge to work on some of these beauties. I have a friend who is very successful, and he calls on me to do certain repairs when needed, or when he buys another one that needs love... I wish you well, maybe you need to learn how to drive it.. just sayin' you may love it... jojo

does your friend have Premium Tech Tool, or a professional equivalent? Please go in with caution... 'changing parts' isn't just 'changing parts' on these Volvo's.. you can easily cause more issues.. So please study up on this... if your friend had VED12 knowledge, then He may be close enough... jojo -
good call. I wonder if it would be cheaper than MackVo.. for the same parts.. you may as well buy a new fan speed switch and the plug on the truck side of that wire harness... they always get hot from a loose connection then they melt the plug, which can cause a short.... Indak makes the switch.. jojo

I am very sorry for youre loss... Myself,, I would struggle with this.. I would probably just keep it, and maybe one day at a truck show or a parking lot some where when I'm out and about in it, the right guy will come along... 🙏 Jojo

there are grounds behind the cluster to the left, and next to the fuse panel on the right side, there is also a ground breaker on the fire wall next to the starter relay, it is black and just has ground wires on it.. The accessory relay in this model should be a square relay in the right fuse panel.. I cant remember the number.. jojo

Onyx is on to something.. when it is aired up, shut it down... then move the vent selector one click at a time in both directions. if the air leak changes or stops, do what Onyx said. there is a little air piston and the controls also have spaghetti lines going to them and they end to leak, they are push lock type fittings. jojo

Neo... I responded a bit ago... I'm going to post a question for the guy's... Can he look at air tanks for his truck, at site's where they sell air systems for people who take small pick up trucks and install air ride to them? I know that Midliner parts are like 'Hen's Teeth' hard to find.. so does he get creative? jojo

I remember those days in early 2000.. I did quite a few core sand repairs and stand pipe updates.. as far as cutting counter bores, I remember measuring the shelf in 3-4 spots, and looking for cavitation that went from the bore wall out to the edge of the shelf.. thats when we cut 'em... jojo

Dan, do you dare to take the turbo apart and clean out the soot that has the ring nozzle bound up? jojo

For some reason I can not find the tool on the web... Its a plastic gauge with teeth on it and you use it to set the VGT cam into position before you install the actuator, then you are ready to do a calibration.. Why can't i find it??? jojo
