  1. if you have an Ambach pump, they have a controller with a diode, I think on the firewall.... Did you run a hot wire with an aligator clip to the posts on the heads just to see if they work? Robert Bosch pumps have micro switches.... and no diode... (Glenn,) correct me if im wrong...
  2. it may have an electronic control on the back side of the injection pump...(governor housing) easy to see., a round gray plug.. the 400 has a great power curve, and can pull anything that the other (non MACK) trucks can pull. That engine is the last of the Million Mile Engines..... with the exception of a well maintained E-Tech ......which came after that one... jojo
  3. run time on an un-cooled compressor is short, before damage happens, however, youre post tells me that you have some good knowledge, and you will be cautious doing this test.... looking forward for the cure being posted.... jojo
  4. I was so upset, I left off 2 'Zero's' Sorry... jojo
  5. so they know who's not vaccinated in the U.S.,, around 90,000 is what I heard, but they didnt vaccinate the Arab's they flew here, and the border jumpers in the deep south, but If I am not vaccinated .... I can't get on a plane or eat a good meal, or whatever...... ... Please ... correct me if i'm wrong.... I have many issues with this, as do, you!!! this is bigger than I can understand... do I need to Armor one of my trucks and fortify it with stout guns??? Why the hell am I thinking this way?? I'm No wimp, but WTF?
  6. There is usually one on the firewall, left of the steering column. its flat looking with a round shape to it and the trailer lines go through it... if not....look at the back of the cab where the trailer lines hook up, for a roundish, 4 inch'ish long valve with one end looking like an air governor. if you have this valve there, then you found it. .. Why I cant tell you exactly, just blows my mind.... I dont ever mess with 'em...jojo
  7. you can also use a jumper wire from a power source like the alt. pos. wire, and touch the post on the head and listen for a click sound, just to add to the diag... jojo
  8. You can pull the wire off the post at the head, and put a test light on the wire and ground it to the engine. no need to drive it or even run the engine, just turn the switch on and the light should light, with the key on. you can run the engine if you like, and rev it up and let off and watch the light, if it lights on each post then the issue is likely under the valve cover... jojo
  9. Crazy how N.Y. is requireing proof of vaccination, with an I.D.... But no I.D. to vote.... Jojo
  10. 2 of my favorite Mack's, and The CS midliner is a damn good truck... I wish part's were easier to get here in the states. I could make half a living fixing the ones in my area.. Thanks for the cool picture... jojo
  11. all I have, is that, when I have updated a V-Mac systems, sometimes I had to re-set the throttle pedal,, I believe the code is 5-1 or 2... It requires Mack software, and the process is simple, when you open the window to calibrate, you slowly press and fully release the throttle pedal 3 times within 10 seconds.. it can take a few tries, but that is normal... and Vuala' it's right... Jojo, "V" and "F" and Glenn and a few others will correct me if needed...😁
  12. all of these jokes are funny,,,,, but whats not funny,,, is that we are really subjected to this B.S. and the only people keeping our country afloat, is those of us that really work...... and we are becoming a smaller population each day.. not funny at all... I wish one of us had the "CURE"... jojo
  13. I don't know all the ins and outs, but when I was a Mack driver in Scarborough at Mietta construction, I drove a few late 70's r models and DM's that had gold dogs. E-6's with 107 tranny's or 1070B tranny's... (My favorite)... I still have a rookie rod dog, its chrome, but still very cool.. it has the sharp pointed ears... anyway... Looking forward to some more knowledge on this one, not my topic, but I like it... Jojo
  14. Well, What I was told many years ago was that the Gold bulldog meant that the truck was a "Pedigree"... Like a real dog that is "Pure". In this case... All Mack... head to toe, top to bottom... I hope to learn more about this as well... Jojo
  15. I just fixed my previous post because, part of it didn't make sense... Anyway, trump is a bussiness man and that is what we need, because many of us, are bussiness people and know how to run them. I just miss the support... I'm a guppy in a big lake, but I was doing pretty good, I have taken on a "JOB" doing what I know, how to do.. I'm blessed because my employer can see what I bring to the shop. When the dust settles, I may crank my Mobile svc. back up, but right now.... I'm going to play it safe..... Jojo
  16. You Go "V" !!!! that's the DO!...
  17. My guess is, you have a mechanichle injection pump with a wire harness with a gray plug of the back of the pump? If so, the item you are looking for is an F.I.C. module. Fuel injection control module.... Myself.... I have never re-programmed V-MacII. I believe the F.I.C. module, if available through Volvo/Mack, will be pre-set to the engine serial #... There are others who can clear up what I am foggy about... if this is an E-Tech... 6 individual fuel pumps on the right side, then updates can be done at the dealer... I have done only about 20 ECU replacements/programming... It was linked throught the Mack Dealer Portal and V-MacIII software program.... I doubt someone other than a dealer, would have liscense to to get it done. Ok, I'll stop now, jojo
  18. Thats a cool picture of the truth..... "Live free or Die!" jojo
  19. I just read some old posts on this, and I may have missunderstood, I thought this was about an MP, but the post title is E-7... I'm sorry,,, jojo
  20. Just asking because its been a while since I fixed a volvo/mp, engine, Is that the short harness for the oil pan sensors, or was it the whole harness that goes behind the engine with the cam sensor plugs that can be mixed up because they are the same? I'm rusty, I have only done about 5, MP harness' and it's been 4 years since the last one, on an MP-7 that i pulled out to do major work too. .just like to know in case I need to help someone who may call on my services..... thanks, jojo
  21. is the engine an ASET-I or C?
  22. Yes L.T.K... I agree, however, I was born in N.Y.City and have heard his kind of arrogance for 2 decades.. He is tough and that's how he gained his wealth... Anyway, His "Mouth" is hard for many people to understand.. .....his policies and love for country and, really all people... is real.. I always sensed a tender heart, behind the A-Hole that he acted like... Too bad our country can't be as unified as B.M.T. Jojo
  23. holy crap... where do I start, hell, where do I end??? You cant; have trump. We ALL need him. If He was back In power, He would set (TrueDo'nt) straight.. anyway..... I miss him and his office, Big Time... I know for sure he would spread the wealth to our Great White Northern friends.... No reason not too.... He was another "Great Unifier" for our country, and the World.... Not perfect, just Damn Good...jojo
  24. I think the only real virus we have is Progressive democrats that are power hungry. We are smart enough to decide for our selves what we need to do to sty safe. We don't Commies to tell us what to do. Hell, I wore my mask and kept my hands clean and carried dissinfectant spray and kept my service trucks clean, and both myself and my one employee got the Kung Flu.... This was my experience, The U.S. Gov. is totaly using this virus as a tool for power. as long as wimp's tag along, this will never end until there are more people with "hands out" then there are people with "working hands" working to put money in to their hands... It's B.S.!! jojo
  25. yes, the "Twisted pair" of green and yellow is the 1939 line..
