  1. they are crude, but totaly worked. I cut my own gaskets to do the test and these caps did not blow bubbles during the test...
  2. Bundle type oil cooler o-rings are still availlable... may i suggest pulling the oil filter pad and resealing it as well. you are already there. ... also you can make 2 simple little blocking plates to pressure test the oil cooler.. I did this a few years ago. I used 1/4" aluminum flat stock... I made 2 caps. In one of them I tapped 1/4 npt threads and installed an air compressor nipple.... The test is done at 80 P.S.I. in a tub of water. I did this on an E-6 2 valve that I am building. In my case, My oil cooler was good... Jojo
  3. Oh My God!!!!
  4. Thanks again Glenn... I also know the E-7 is 728 C.I.D., but these are the engines I have the most experience in... Not a genius.... Just know how to fix 'em.... Jojo.. These threads are a good tool for me, because of all of you guys that own them and have run them for years.... This is not my thread, but, I absorb the teachings... Thank's.. Joey
  5. I have recently been trying to figure some of this out as well. I have a 1960'ish ENDT 673 (E-6) in my shop now and had 2 other END (non-turbo) 673's over the last 2 years. I knew them to be called E-6's.. "E-6 2 valve" They were all 672 C.I.D.'s... I didn't think the engine number was the same as the displacement, because I didn't believe that with each series, they would build a new engine that was one cubic inch bigger, ( the 673), or 4 more cubic inches, (the 676)... I hope to learn more about this on this thread. Jojo
  6. was there even a threaded hole for the sensor? wasn't a non v-mac tach driven by the injection pump?? i'm forgetting more and more as time goes on,🙃... I need more E-7's in my life. Joey.....
  7. Another Question,,, are they Wedge brakes? Maybe post a picture of the brake chamber. no biggie, just curious.. jojo
  8. look at part no. 4515Q,,, Rears... Try 3402 for the front... the dealership will use the last six of the v.i.n. to tell you..
  9. Good Call... I do have a hard time watching the other, because I Have My opinions and a Bias... I will stick with my beliefs, and use as much of a realistic thought process as I can... There is more to the story about our open southern border. This new president has got me baffled, because there were some good policies for our country, and job's/careers, low cost of living, etc. and now we are giving it to aliens, that Probably didn't have it that bad... Yes there are atrocities in those countries,,, we have them here in the U.S. but WE don't matter to The Biden Govt.. Jojo
  10. Good question... I just hope the footage is real... I do try to look at it inteligently, but even my go-to channel is Dramatic, What would you suggest?
  11. yep... Hocus Pocus..... Here it is! Smile!!!
  12. Ok... another question.... I watch the news every night.. I see all the people crossing rivers and such to get here for free.... Reporters ask ?? How long have you been traveling(Struggling).. they sat 3-5+ days.... Ok..? Long journey, I get it... Just tell me how they have kept their Cell phones charged up. Every time I see footage, several are on their phones.... Just a thought? Joey
  13. there are a few things that can cause this, excesive low speed idling, valve seals, engine wear, and a loose turbine.. Start simple... pull the intake boot off the turbo and inspect the turbine for chips and spin it by hand to see if it's smooth and does not wobble... there may be a minute amount of side to side movement, i'm talking barely a little bit. that would be ok... i see the fuel lines, that tells me its an E-7 Mechanical..... there will a few others stopping by to help you with this. Good luck, Jojo
  14. I know...... You are correct... I just correctly diagnosed a noise in an 04 aset, last week.. I told the owner (who is also a good mechanic) that the noise was likely a bad lifter. told him to drop the pan and look up....... #1 exh. lobe is junk..... I pulled the cam yesterday. No laptop needed for this one... anyway, I hate it for the owner's of these truck's, who have so much downtime lately, due to poor diagnostics, parts cannoning, and lack of MECHANICAL knowledge... Ok, I'm done now.... I look forward to learn what fixes this issue... Jojo
  15. has fuse #40 been replaced with a circuit breaker? Its in the fuse box under the hood next to the steering column. Also, what kind of condition is the J-1 and J-2 connectors on the E.E.C.U.?
  16. Good story Glenn... 4 years ago.... I watched my co-worker, A Mack Tech...... pull the laptop up to the truck, to see why the .... headlights didn't work.... 🙃
  17. 9-2 code... "V"... you got this!... Glad to see you again... Hadn't seen you much lately.. well at least what I'm posting in.. Jojo
  18. Come out of retirement....... It's a different world in the shops now.... Too many laptops and not enough diagnostics with, eye's, ear's, hand's, smell, and of course.... good Old Know-How...... Jojo
  19. ground's, ground's, ground's....😉
  20. codes? did you drop the right kick panel and check the v.e.c.u. connections?.
  21. Go to the fuse cover and open it... look to the left just under the center dash. there should be a bank of relays there... 3 or 4... 1'" black cubes... one of them is the "new" back then..... Acc. Relay...... you can switch the headlight relay to see if this is your issue. BTW: did you tighten the block ground on the left side, and is the ground breaker on the fire wall, good and tight?
  22. Yes sir... shipping will be expensive. I just realized you are in Canada.... The axle he is describing is 2 piece, axle and splined hub cap... Jojo
  23. I just converted an '86 Superliner from spoke to budd wheels for a friend of mine. He still has the spoke hubs, rims, spacers, and drums. If you think you need these parts let me know and I will try to get a price for the whole pallet.. P.M. me if you'd like.. jojo

Using an inspection mirror or scope... Try to look at the back side of the center exhaust manifold for a crack. I know you said it was re-built. If this truck is an ASET CEGR, then you have a big turbo hanging on by 4 studs. I have found many of these manifolds with cracks. The ASET IEGR can crack too.. Is the air compressor new? Jojo
