What type of rears suspension do you have? What year and model truck? Are any of the bushings loose or worn out? Was the frame damaged in any way? We need to know a lot more about what you have... In the center of the axles there are dimples. You and a helper can use a tape measure to do this. Take the outer wheels off and secure the inner wheels, set the truck back in the ground. With the tape measure, use the 1" line, not the end of the tape. Measure the distance between the dimples.

Dont go near replacing the injection pump.. that is way to far out there for this issue. Did he even try any type of diagnostics? I assume it doesnt have a hand primer. Any chance there is a Davco 382 fuel filter on the truck. MrsMackpaul is teaching you something. Put the ether in the mower shed...

J.C. swapping engines sounds right to me.. im not familiar with a 3408 Cat. How does it compare to a 3406 E. I worked on a '99,,W-900 with a 3406. It was easy to work on, and when i drove it, it was smooth and i could feel good power, it had a 13 spd. .

Ive looked at the pictures a dozen times. There is a lot going on with this truck. Lots of ad-ons and such. Is it a common example of a truck built for what it does, or is there a lot of home made things on it? Not picking on the truck, just curious. I like the truck.

Dammit !!! i used to know the answer. Im thinking .008". I even forgot if the center crank journal has separate thrust washers, or if the bearings have them as a 1 piece bearing.. Just curious,,,,, what is the concern or are you just checking it? Sounds like the wires in the plug are switched around.

I too was wondering about the axle fitment due to spline size..

I have never seen that style of Mack Carrier. I can only assume the front drive has an automatic power divider. Those rears are before my time .

Ok, just clarifying, do you see fluctuations in voltage on the alt. gauge?
