    I have some knowledge, not fluent. This starter was doing fine for a while. I think age is what ailed it. No biggie really. Thanks for the input..

    Thanks J.C. yes Delco, itis old and melted the connection inside where the post is. I can geta rebuild kit for it, i just havent ordered it. Im changing it to 12 volt neg.ground, the parts are for a 6 volt starter. As good as it starts and runs, i will likely just buy that kit. I have had a string of other repairs to do on my house and our other small trucks, so this one takes a back seat.

    Thats where it belongs... We cant have white girls be number. 1... There should be some crying coming out about Kaitlin Clark. She was voted A.P.'s Female athlete of the year.. i cant believe they said, "female"... K.C. was taking a beating in every college game, and pro games, by non-white players, and rarely a penalty called. I watched about 8 games or so with her because i was proud of her.. She is a victim of racism for sure. Even a WNBA big wig took issue with K.C.'s award. Then, K.C. had to go and say something stupid, but hopefully, she stops that junk. She is a great Baller..

    J.C. i agree with you. My truck is in great shape, and it was running before i pulled the wires out. I may try to make a crank handle, since my starter burned up. I also dont have the money or the paint and body skills to make a trailer queen. But mine will be safe on the road.

    When i get through my little boo boo. Im going to get back to work on my '48 Int. It wont be as beautiful as a lot of these trucks i see, but, i will still be proud.

    You tapped into my mind. I feel the same way. If i met the owner of the truck i was fixing and we talked well together, i would have a natural concern and would step up my game for that owner..

    Good job Mech... Yes, i did work very hard to fix big trucks, and had many minor injuries, that added up to this mess. Both knees are junks, and lower back and shoulders crunch with ease. Thats why i wondered if the Commie trucks were easier to work on. Im doing a study on the relation ship of pain to the types of trucks we fixed.. I think im still on track..

    Fjh speaks good sense here.. its been at least 6 years since i made one of these repairs. One of the last ones i did, i pulled the MP-7 out of the GU chassis. When you get the new compressor gear, be sure to get the correct diameter gear, there are 2. The small one will not engage the other gears. One of my co workings taught us that the hard way.. I wish you much success, is the housing easy to find?
