  3. Happy Birthday to OtherDog.... I hope you have a great day. Jojo
  4. on newer set-ups, I have seen a redish fiber disc that goes between the clutch brake and the tranny to give an extra grip. To me, the bigger issue is drivers that dont know that they are not to push the clutch all the way down when shifting gears.
  5. Well I finally got back on this END -673. I hit a wall, then had to recover from knee surgurey. Thanks to 70MackMB I was able to buy the correct engine book. I needed that book bad. I also got lucky with my parts engine having some of what I'm missing. Once this engne is done, I will be able to get back to work on my '48 KB-7... https://photos.app.goo.gl/nYdkcWoWtJ6LeYGAA Sure wish I could just post pictures the old timey way........ Thanks Guys, Jojo
  6. Its all about maintenance with them... And that isnt a lot, just normal care..
  7. Not today.. It will come down.
  8. N.C. is screwing us. $3.09 +/-
  9. Doesnt really matter.. Seems like men are becoming gay anyway.. 😂
  10. Ive seen those in Iveco trucks. I think Valeo was the brand name. I have only seen a few, and i do not have the spanner wrench in my tool box, which means I didnt see a lot of them.. 😉
  11. Flywheel bolts are around 175 lbft. I can check my book when i get home later
  12. You did well sir, looks like the clutch springs were grinding the flywheel. Good luck to you..
  13. Yes. There is a dowel in the drive hub on the engine side, and a missing spline in the pump coupler.
  14. The Robert Bosch pump has a coupler that is hour glass shaped. The pump slides out when the 4 bolts behind the cover are removed. Before that, you set the pump timing with the marks on the flywheel or balancer. When the pump is installed it will be bench timed. Which should be close. The slots in the gear allow a small amount of pump drive movement to adjust it to the correct engine position. Vlad, i hope i am answering your questions...
  15. Too bad we arent close to each other. I would time it for you.
  16. I beleive the pump shop will have to set the timing on the bench. Key is not to rotate the pump when handling it.
  17. You will see that the holes in the pump drive gear are slotted. That is so you can make minor degree changes during set up. That is done by leaving 2 opposing bolts in place, and using the other 2 bolt holes to turn the pump without turning the engine. To do that part, the 2 bolts will need to be loosened up a little to allow the pump coupler to rotate. The gear will not move. I will look for a picture of the tool. You can make one...
  18. The 460/13spd. Would be my choice, even though i like a CH...
  19. It seems to me that all the news stations are in bed together, trying to scare us into beleiving prices are going to sky rocket. I would look into big business owners and controllers intentionally keeping prices high just to increase profits, even when there costs are low.
  20. Yes but you need to move the engine 30+ degrees back then go forward to remove gear lash.. a little gear lash effects a long way... Got it ??? The engine runs clockwise...
  21. You have to remove the front cover and the 4 bolts on the pump gear. Leave the gear meshed in the hole. The pump coupler will come out with the pump. When the pump is ready to install. You will use the light timer to make sure the pump is set before installation. then install the pump with 2 bolts secured in the pump gear. Then back it off 30+ degrees, and bring it up til the lights match, and check the degree mark on the flywheel. 1/2 degree early is ok. If it is on the mark, lock it down.. your done... There are a few others here who know this better than me. I expect one to chime in.. jojo
