  1. The auto power divider still allows the wheel with the least traction to spin. for example on uneven terrain whe the wheels are dramatical at different levels to the ground.. and I also believe they dont like severly un-even tire wear.. like when you put new tires on one axle but the other axle has nearly worn out tires..
  2. Yep, here it comes,. however, this year we only have 1 tree to clean up after, and its my nieghbors willow oak.. I just tuned up the back pack blower, and Terri will blow all the leaves back in my neighbors yard. It's funny. she surrounds the tree with its leaves.. the tree is 4 feet across at eye level..
  3. now we just need an update.. I hope He got lucky with the E.U.P.'s..
  4. all good buddy.. The 2 of us work well together here...
  5. ok 1995,,, 680 jake heads, yes there should be a spec on valve cover. I am trying to post the jake brake specs, but this damn #200 code keeps popping up. My mack book says: .080''
  6. I forgot to comment on the unit pump.. fjh is right,, I suggest you get 12 new bolts. 8mm allen headed, 10mmx1.50, grade 10.9,,, 70mm long I believe, Mack should still stock them. yoou can replace the bolts one at a time so that you wont disturb the E.U.P. o-rings. final torque is 60 ftlb's
  7. what year is the engine? is the jake head a 680 or 690? I have books with specs for the 680.. I know the 690 off the top of my head..
  8. I'm rusty now, but I remember the ground posts on the fire wall getting loose. all the cab ground wires are gray in color.
  9. heck,, we're tearing this thread to peices.. I like to mess with Mech.. He's a great sport... and very smart too.. I look forward to how he fixes his popping noise..
  10. Sorry Grandpa.. You Crack me up Bud..
  11. Amen GADave.. I have been in Salisbury N.C. for 19 years.. I bet the snow total in that time is about 3 feet.... When I lived in Maine... I could wake up to see 12-24 inches that fell while I slept.. I don't miss that at all.... of course as a school boy, I liked it if school was closed.. then i would get on my snowmobile and ride up and down the road like a Rebel..
  12. Mech.. he posted a picture of the outer cam drum.. it is as bad as the ones you saw 95 years ago... just sayin'
  13. Yes Vlad, however if you ad up the wear on the cams and the peanuts, which im sure are ground down, popping noises are possible.. i never liked these auto power dividers anyway..
  14. Yep,,, thats what i was talking about.. and yes the noise can come from that.
  15. but i'm just a child..
  16. luv u man...
  17. BTW Bob,,, I'm watching the rally in Las Vegas.. No need to 'F' with this thread... just FYI..
  18. Bull sh!t !! Bob, you knew,,,,
  19. I may have fogotten the real CID.. 194,, popped in my head right away.. I know it had a lot of torque, we pulled logs with it, and what ever else we were f'n with..
  20. I would love to have a '64 Scout with the 3 sticks and the 194 cid 4 cylinder....
  21. I had a '73 Scout II... I beleive they came with 'factory appointed rust' .. on a quiet night you could here it rust... Wish I still had that rust bucket !! Just sayin'
  22. Yes Paul, it is.. the fuel galleries on this engine are simple, 2 straight 1/2'' bores from front to back. the E.U.P.'s are individual cam drive fuel pumps. There is one per cylinder.. Over the years I have developed a great respect for this breed of Mack engine, even though I love the E-6 and E-7. mechanicals.. also Paul,,, for a computerised engine , the early ones are much simpliar than what we have today,, almost primitive in comparison... I dont like E.E.C.U.'s, but I would own an early E-tech in a heart beat.. Of course I spent 20+ years on that platform,(to use a modern phrase)... Jojo
  23. On the rears, you can take the 4 bolts out of the s-cam housing and remove the housing without pulling the hubs. Of course, you wont be inspecting the wheel bearings..
