  1. Im not a fan of ether on a diesel, especially MP's. If you spray in the filter it wont get to the engine untill the CAC has a bunch of it laying inside, then when it does light, it will run away. I have seen that a few times.. if you insist on ether, pull a plug out if the intake or loosen the boot on the intake and sneak it in..
  2. Have you pumped the hand primer tol firm and then crank it?
  3. 25 lbft, evenly then finish at 50 lbft I just read this again and saw that i fat fingered my phone..
  4. Im curious just to learn. My guess is 80W90.
  5. Damn,, you dirty..... Good find..
  6. Yes on the temp. With a torch you need to be even or the gear will warp
  7. My first question was if he had a belt driven steering pump. Even though its a Mack. Its a Mack ive never worked on. The filters inside those old pumps clog and make the steering harder..
  8. P.A.I. has a quality product. As you go forward, post questions. Like about front hub and seal and cam gear removal and install.. you will need am oven to bake them. I wish i had extra cam books. I had a bunch, but gave away most of them..
  9. Seems like we have had to pay high tariffs for years, but Dems, want to call Trump out on fighting back against it..
  10. This engine has lifters with ceramic rollers. They will crack very easily when installing the cam. Steel lifters are available. Without insulting you, i assume you havent done one of these cams based on the question about inframe or out. Myself , i have most of the essential tools to do this job. I strongly suggest you read the Mack procedures. Most of the job is common, but there are a few procedures that have to be followed.
  11. In frame. You will need a jack or a jig to hold the front of the engine up a few inches for support, and to let the cam gear clear the front x-mem.
  12. Ok. Im thinking..... I assume you looked in the fuse panel. Do they come on when air pressure is below 65 PSI?
  13. The diagram is probably on the E-Media website. Do you have power going to the air pressure switch for the brake lights?
  14. Have you looked up at the cam lobes recently?
  15. Did you run the valves by the book, or the same way as Caterpillar or John deer
  16. We live among some really sick and stupid people.. All that money to study the impossible....
  17. Same here O.D. our auto parts stores look like graffiti..
  18. His truck will use 15W40. JoeH is right
  19. Those wheels suck. Cragar SS all the way. SST's are ok. And Keystone Classics as well.
  20. Yes sir. Really all oil is hydraulic fluid, really all fluids.. i have zero knowledge on trucks outside the States.. my guess is the pump construction determined the oil grade.. of course i have seen systems filled with the wrong oil or its mixed, and it still worked.. theres a couple guys here that can quote the book on this.. They are very smart..
  21. Yes. In that year. However. TRW systems in my time use ATF, and Sheppard use 15W40.. of course I make it sound simple. I expect some other variants to be posted.. i am not well versed on many systems.
