  1. Harbor freight. They work fine and arent $100.00
  2. any chance the thrust buttons are out of adjustment and the cam is walkin' a bit?
  3. have you taken the belts off and run it?
  4. do you have an infrared temp gun? if so, when it gets hot, pull over raise the idle up and check the water manifold at the rear of the rear manifold, and see if it is close to what the gauge says. there may be 10-15 degree difference due to shooting the outside of the manifold and not the coolant. just curious if you have a gauge issue or sensor issue right now. BTW... your truck is a CV-713 not 513.. Jojo
  5. are you hearing the air compressor kick on and off?
  6. typically 50 PSI of freon is enough to start the compressor, one of my issues was not being able to jump start or test the compressor with the engine off. it is a 3 wire harness, unlike the 2 wire harness we know.. wont hurt my feelings if I never learn how to fix this disposable compressor.
  7. I respect that.. I was a builder at Mack for years and the price of re-man w/warranty out weighed an in-house rebuild.. too bad.. I took pride in my builds..
  8. I am not able to answer most of your tech. questions, GW.. but what I do know, is it makes trouble shooting A/C issues harder, especially on a road call, and you dont have a laptop with the correct programming. Even with A-Pads on the truck I have struggled with them. I dont like to just throw a compressor on as a guess, I want to know why, before I spend the customers money..
  9. here is a sample. it is controlled by the EECM.
  10. Of course i have..
  11. It is impossible to do it 'in-chassis' without several special tools.. if you pull the trans out and stand it up on the bell housing, using some 2x8's, you can do it.. i highly recommend getting the book, this aint no parts changing job
  12. That is a check ball in the tank vent, lets pressure out, and keeps dirt from getting in... Theoretically
  13. Actually, there is a clutch, it just isn exposed. It is behind the pulley.. i dont care for them. Im with you G W.
  14. Isnt the clutch on that model internal? If its the Sanden that i have seen before, you wont see the clutch engage. G.W. makes some good points though.. was the expansion valve replaced recently.
  15. Dammit!! Busted again...
  16. I had a thought... (Uh-Oh) . Carburetors are aluminum...
  17. too bad we are so far apart. I have access to lots of cut offs.. both stainless and #2 steel and aluminum too.. I get it for free.
  18. That is pretty nice. Thank you for thinking of me.. My plan for the truck was to be a toy.. I was thinking about putting a 5th wheel on it for looks, and a short rack body behind the cab for groceries ( I do have 13' of frame behind the cab) I didnt think about a hitch. however, if i'm in a parade, I could pull a hay wagon full of kids and their parents. Hmmm...
  19. Boost leak? Is the EGR valve still on the engine?
  20. I just learned something.. never knew about gas and aluminum tanks..
  21. sounds like you need to put gas tank coating in it while it is a virgin... sorry, I dont have a picture of a girl in a car.. But I do have this little Peach.. as Bob would put it.. jojo
  22. whats with the flipping of the shifting hand by both of them? Learn me something...
  23. Back in 2001 or 2.... Hanaford bros. Grocers traded in 32 CH 612's and 613's and bought 36 CX's.. ( new model that year). The trade trucks ranged from drivable and workable, to wont move or run. We picked out the runners and piggy backed the bad ones, on them. The buyer was from Guatemala and was the only one who spoke english. I even had to show a couple of them how to release the brakes and shift, on the lot.. They can drive anything there, much like Laredo TX.. saw that in 2006...
  24. Yes, i bet we have better trailers sittin in scrap yards.
