  1. The 'Break-in' procedure you talk about is new to me.. Heck if it works, then great...
  2. Welcome to the Dog Pound.. You got a good one there.. one major rule here (not really) is you have to post pictures.. Look forward to them.. Jojo
  3. I got a bit more done today.. I'm pickin' at this engine while waiting for parts for the other one I'm doin. and, NO.. I did not leave it outside. I just brought it out for good pic's..
  4. So He won South Carolina.. Ok,,, Well, who are the 2 people he's running against. I never heard of them. I may go back and read about them, or not. I guess it's easy to win when there is no competition.
  5. CHU? do you have any pictures of the engine, how is the condition of the frame, any history on the rear ends? Eaton rears or Mack? Like any truck, if it was well maintained it can last a long time. Eaton transmission? if so, probably an FRO 15-or-16 210 C.. decent tranny, millions of them around, the synchro is a common repair, but easy to do and not too expensive.. Welcome to the Dog Pound.. Jojo. others will chime in soon....
  6. I have a target.
  7. I can do what I want with it.. The owner doesnt want it back.. He said it's a P.O.S. I still want to buy one like the one in the background. much better and safer to use.. and,,, TJC,, My wife tells me that God didnt give me the sense he gave a Billy Goat.. So I guess I will just stay stupid..
  8. I have to rotate it with an engine crane and support it with jack stands, otherwise it will spin around and kill me if it hits me.
  9. on a stand, but i have to take it off the stand to put the flywheel housing on. it is a home made stand. (not made by me)
  10. was there ever a snap ring in that groove to keep the bolts from falling out of the valve cover when loosened? I don't know much about the small details of END's. This is my first full rebuild.
  11. I put that liner press together after my tired arms and shoulders told me to do something else or ''we are quitting''..
  12. Well, I had a few hours to get back on the ENDT 673.. Did some blasting and priming. I also tried to fix the brass coolant pipe. It was dented pretty good, and had a slight bend in it. I got lucky, a piece of fence pipe was enough to rough in the round shape, and then I used a wrist pin from a John Deere 3179DF engine to finish it.. The wrist pin was a perfect fit.. I couldnt get it perfect, but I also didnt want to knock a hole or crack in the pipe, so I stooped here..
  13. This is for FJH.. This is where I got my wheel cyl's from.. Good cust. service..
  14. Thanks, just this 1 picture. Dont want to step on the thread. jojo
  15. I feel your pain.. The same thing happened to me with my KB-7 wheel cyls.. I got lucky, the seller sent me the right ones before I returned the wrong ones..
  16. Thank you Dave..
  17. and Let the People Say....... AMEN !!!
  18. I know that some forklifts I've done, had to push the fluid from the slave to the master. I used a mighty vac hand pump.. hope this is of help to you...
  19. Welcome to the Dog Pound
  20. The glider kits that I've seen had, GK, in the vin.. just tossing that out there.
  21. ok, its my bedtime, I expect others will add to this. I will check back tomorrow
  22. can you post a good picture of your intake manifold? as far as re-programming, I dont know the history of the truck. I always look at the simple things first. these EECU's are pretty tough, unless it was struck by lightning or in a major wreck, I would not look at the EECU.
  23. 9-2 code.pdf
  24. go to Mack E-Media website.. also, make up a foot long wire with medium sized alligator clips on each end, and clean a spot on the EECU and clip one end there, then clean a spot on the engine or a bolt, whatever, and clip the other end there. then drive the truck.. if its runs good you can make a permanent ground wire..
