  3. why is the fan not centered on the radiator? Just curious..
  4. If you get a clear jug, like a juice jug for example. you can attach a 1/4'' line to the small nipple on the fuel pressure regulator, and put the hose in the bottom of the jug, and keep it submerged, and run the engine, and look for air bubbles. have someone there to shut it off before you over fill the jug.
  5. many years ago in Maine, I had a basic 2wd Toyota pick-up. 4 banger with a 5 spd. I used to offer snow blower services in Old Orchard Beach. lots of small houses that a plow truck wouldnt do well there.. They liked my service because it was clean and there was no damage to their grass and hardscapes.. anyway, I was always chained up, and I would keep a bag of 'S-Hooks' in the truck along with a Channel lock pliers. every time I broke a link I would squeeze an 'S-Hook' in place of the broken link, and roll on.. You wont catch me doin' that crap today, just sayin'....
  6. The range clutch basket has the letter ''R'' stamped inside of it to indicate, reward..
  7. I would check fuel pressure.. should be around 80 PSI for that year
  8. Is the miss at low idle only, or throughout the engine speeds while driving?
  9. nope, still pissin' my wife off..
  10. Does your air compressor get it's air from the manifold? If so, it is taking in boosted air..
  11. Are there dip switches on the back of the speedo?
  12. I can't talk right now, sorry.
  13. Ok.. did you put new orings in the shift fork assembly
  14. Is the snapring in the center of the synchro installed or broken. If it is left out, it will only shift once, and then you have to go back in to the rear box.
  15. Have you unhooked the air compressor intake pipe, to see if the noise is the compressor?
  16. Did voltage go up when it was running? In the past, when we had a major voltage drop, I would take a separate battery and ground it to the truck, then connect the positive to the EECU fuse socket, with the fuse installed. If the truck fired up, it would indicate a bad starter.. the starter was pulling too many volts.. as far as a miss, not sure yet, I assume valves were adjusted recently?
  17. Brings back memories.. I did a year and a half in some old Macks for a construction company in Scarborough Maine.. I hauled salt to a bunch of municipalities.. Cool pic's.. jojo
  18. We are supposed to have 50 MPH + winds over the next day and a half.. Here is what I do for added security.. I figure a 4,500 lb fork lift should hold it.. Is that Redneck enough for ya ? Just havin some fun.. jojo
  19. Nice truck !! You mind gettin' me a nice slice of 'pie' while your right there? Jojo
  20. I dont miss it either. I only ran I-81/88/90/80... and so-on for a little over 2 years.. I'm more of a mechanic than a driver..
