  1. I guess, after all the hard parts are checked for re-use, you can go for it.. Many engine parts are still available.. I have one in my shop, and between PAI, and finding spare parts here at BMT, I have what I need to finish it.. I see you have 18 bolt heads.. I'm pretty sure the head gaskets are still available.. jojo
  2. 🍻
  3. I dont know a lot about High Powered CB's, but you should be able to get 30 amps off the posts. Is it recommended to run a resistor for static/noise?
  4. Here are some old tools that I have had for 23+ years.. I believe they are runout tools for E-6 fly wheel housings.. Was hoping there was a 'jig' to cut fire ring grooves in Mack heads.. there was a bunch of cutters in the box. they are set aside.. Mech, I was hoping you can I.D. these old tools..
  5. those posts are to be used, how you need them. What is the concern?
  6. Yes... Merry Christmas !!
  7. 200,000 illegals came through our southern border, so far, this month.. Well at least The Biden Klan cares about Ukraine and Israeli borders..
  8. Battery power. it is an open socket for an add-on.. I'm thinking that there is a wire behind the dash with a label on it that say battery.. Do you have a rocker switch in the dash that looks like a battery?
  9. thanks for posting the repair.. Jojo
  10. Well..... At least we have each other here...
  11. yeah, kind of a safe bet.. I always ask dumb questions, because every once in a while, the 'poster' doesnt know what he has.. I wonder how aggressive the pressure washer guy was? whats the chances he blew the 2 plugs of the posts in the jake spacers??
  12. do you have an injection pump or 6 EUP's?
  13. It's Double Clutchin Weasles Birthday.. 🎂
  14. Mech,, I have a box of old tools that may just have what you know to be a fire ring cutter.. this box is full of bars and pins and cutters.. I remember using some of it to check run-out on E-6 flywheels.. I have a full day tomorrow, but I hope I remember to spread the tools out and post pictures, and you can tell me what I have. Good chance I will hi-jack this thread... or may start an ''Old Tools'' thread.. Jojo Sorry TJC,,, still talking about 'me'., again...
  15. There are WAY too many ''Feelgood '' stories about how A.I. is the solution to the issue at hand... Bull Sh!t !!!!!! WE ARE FU#$%ED !!
  16. Oh my.... I'm sorry about this.. 🙏
  17. any free or cheap books would be great,, the last 3 of these ASET engines that I built, I was able to buy all of the parts from a PAI vendor.. Less than half price. I was at the very last customer last sunday and asked about his truck.. He said it runs great and pulls hard.. I did the build in June of 2022.. I have used PAI on about 20 engines, and have not had to re-do them.. so dont be leary of this brand.. Others here are familiar with PAI, and can give you opinions.. Jojo
  18. JoeH,, the valve adjustment procedure is different.. he has Power leash.. Jacobs 690 is a different adjustment procedure.. If it is not done correctly, and he has ceramic rollers back in the engine, 30 seconds after he starts the engine, he will be right where he is now..
  19. rotate the engine and watch each lobe.. I thought I saw scratches in the 3rd to last picture.. since this engine ran away for a bit, it may have shattered the rollers but shut down before cam damage happened... (My wishful thinking) Jojo
  20. i'm sorry.. if you fix this, i suggest getting cam kit with steel lifters... I would strongly suggest new H-Rings.. all 12... there are 2 oversized H-Rings available.. Do you have an E-Tech engine book?
  21. I have a local truck parts store that keeps the buildable fittings in stock.. No one else does..
  22. you dont have too,, of course starting on #1 for any reason is always a plus,, you do know that just because the pointer is pointing at 1&6 on the flywheel, doesnt mean you are up on #1.. you could be up on #6.. theres an easy way to tell.... also, in order to see the cam at #3+#4,, its best to remove the oil pump. the torque on those bolts is 35 lbft..
  23. heck I have 13 feet of frame behind the cab... Just sayin..
  24. I think it would be a cool local truck to take to the grocery store, or Dunkin Donuts for breakfast... If I ever get my '48 on the road, thats what im gonna do... Sorry TJC,,, I did it again,,,
  25. Yeah,, I got busted by GADave, in one of my post about a blown tranny,, or something like that.. and now I gotta look behind me to see if TJC is there too.. It's great to be loved...
