  1. Hi Engine2

This is Andy Wright, the guy who does the E-model register. I have added your truck to the register and will soon have a formal pdf copy of the register to send you. For the records, could I please have your address or, at least, your email address please? I have also downloaded your photos for the file.

    Thanks

    Andy Wright

  2. Hi guys Hopefully off to check out a rather rough E in a few days. Found out about her last night and, although rough, the photos show her to be dry. Am trying not to get too excited as we don't know if she's still there. Anyway, besides the chassis number, what other numbers/stampings should I be looking for to help ID her (if I can't find the chassis number)? Despite my love for Es, their relative scarcity down here means I can count how many I've seen on one hand (and not use all fingers!). I've never had a chance to crawl over one. Are there numbers stamped on the diff? As always, I welcome any advice. Andy
  3. Still hunting an Aussie E-model!

  4. Hi guys We've just moved house again so I'm catching up again. Need to get the register finished from a presentation point of view. Should have that done shortly as we now have well over 50 E-models listed. I'll be in touch with the new entries shortly (Engine2 etc). Cheers Andy
  5. Hi all I'm afraid I disappeared again. Sorry about that. Lost my job in February and there's been a few changes here. We're moving house interstate shortly. Fortunately, it's a better scenario for us workwise and the town is in the middle of E-model land when it comes to Mack Es downunder. Hoping I can find one for myself at last. How'd you go, Speed? Tracy and Kevin, many thanks for those details. Andy
  6. How so, Rod? Been a while since I looked inside a B let alone drove one.
  7. Hi Rod, I think it's a combined rev and speed guage. Can't remember. Actually, it might just be a mile and km guage. Can you get those? It looks like it has two needles. Mal doesn't own her any more. Sold her to a previous owner for restoration about 18 months ago.
  8. She looks the business, Baz, as I've said already. Sounds like you need a trip to the NT to hunt some info down... Hey Dave, I can put you in touch with a Flintstone fan you've probably already come across in Dubbo. I suspect he'll have some chassis numbers of local F'stones.
  9. Welcome John and thanks for the listing. I take it you're the owner? Am going through a bit of upheaval at present but I'll let you know when I've added the truck to the registry.
  10. Thanks Ray, email on the way. Speed, any luck with saving bits of that bus? Never heard of an E bus before.
  11. Thanks Jeffro, I thought the C motor only went into R-models but I'm probably remembering that wrong. Having said that, my B61T had a C motor but it was not the original power for her.
  12. Thanks Mike, didn't know that. Any of yours have the White motor?
  13. T is single-axle tractor X is heavy duty specs The numbers after 61 mean something as well. From memory, 3 in 613 is optional engine (?) and 5 in 615 is for V8.
  14. Good to see you here, Baz and good to know my endless dribble about Macks finally wore you down. However, I suspect, given your history with Flintstones etc, it wasn't needed! Looking forward to following the resto of the 700.
  15. Matt, you might be interested to know that Lee Haeberlein (also a BMT member) in California has a fully-restored 1948 EH1S with a White motor, IIRC. I have his contact details if you're interested in getting in touch with him. Good to hear from you, Tom.
  16. All the best with the resto, Paul.
  17. Sorry for the slow reply, Bob, but many thanks for the details. Sounds like she was worth hunting down! Got any photos? Thanks to Ray (Tinman), we also have details of the oldest EH1D on the registry (c/n 1743) and Matt Williams, new to Macks, has just bought an EG1S that is the oldest EG1S on the registry. Many thanks guys! Oh dear, I think we're up to 51 entries. Better get the registry "official" now!
  18. Thanks Ray, I'll do a Google search to see if I can turn up further details. Thanks to MACKRAWL for providing details of his A30H.
  19. Ossablt, once you find your chassis number, did you know you can write to the Mack Museum (along with a non-compulsory donation is nice) to get the line sheet and a whole heap of other info related to your specific truck? They can also tell you if the diff, gearbox and engine are original to the truck.
  20. As you can see from my signature, the E registry is just short of the 50 entries level. Once we reach 50, I'll put together a pdf document of similar format to the B registry. The past couple of days has seen new member Tinman provide details of five Es, one of which was already listed (Rigfire's Texas-based Type 75S). However, Tinman provided details of our first two 505S', the oldest EF1S on the registry and the first consecutive chassis number listing (a Type 75S still owned by the Charleston FB). Many thanks Ray!
  21. A dump bed, Packer?! I'm jealous. Hope the petting went well. I've found one down here as well but she's quite the derelict and the price is too high for what she is. Will still go have a look though. ;-) Andy EDIT: actually I've found two in two weeks. One is about 10 hours north of me and is the most complete unrestored example I've seen in Australia to date. Got most excited.
  22. Thanks Mike. You score another one? The first EE for the registry and, going by the chassis number, I'd guess at 1942.
  23. Thanks OD, Mike and Barry - excellent stuff. We're now on 13 entries. With what you guys provided, we have a few firsts: - the lowest chassis number: 1504 owned by Watt's - the first A40S: as provided by OD. - the highest chassis number: 10268 provided by OD. - the first A50Ts: thanks Mike. - the first A54Ts: Mike again. At first glance, based on previous listings, I would say all of Mike's A50Ts are 1951 builds. However, I have Sarnia Concrete's A30H 3474 listed as 1952 and Rob's A40H 5180 listed as 1951 so that doesn't really help Mike's 4851. Looking at the A54Ts doesn't help either! All very interesting.
  24. Am surprised you want to pull the GM out, Joe. Is she a "happy" engine?
