old unknown frame
Mean Green replied to Mean Green's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Brockey it had a pretty fat pack in the rear and they were under the axle witch was strange and the humped frame is odd too next time I'm there ill look again from my understanding the owner just passed away -
In my work travels I came across this frame can find no markings has dayton front and rear leaf springs with added coils in the rear was wondering if anyone knew what this would have been from its kinda short behind the rear axle definitely an odd set up

Vin on frame
Mean Green replied to Puller270's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
from what I understand if you have the local police check it over and they provide a written statement that it has been checked through the stolen vehicle data base and everything is good you pay the nada tax value to Vermont and they will issue you a plate and registration you then take that and pa will accept that for a title -

title in pa is tough can you find any documents like old registration and who ever names on it they can apply for a title there should be a tag on passenger door with information I have heard you can go through the state of Vermont and get a title -

Got the dents smoothed up and epoxy primer on most of it and did all the jambs painted and all the doors back on and latches back in . Could not get the bottom latches to work and checking my older pics found I had swapped the lower doors from side to side I thought all the handles were in the lower corners . Now need to epoxy primer the doors them high build primer and then some paint. -

My B model started out with single 4in straight pipe that wasant bad then I went to dual 5 in straight pipe no turbo and it was super loud then I turbocharged it and it sound way better but it's a thermodyne so to compare it to your cummins isn't a really good comparison . Keep up the excellent job your truck looks amazing -

Adding a sleeper to a b model
Mean Green replied to Mean Green's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
yes I did Matt . I wanted to get the top of it closer to the height of my cab so when I took the mount off I found the aluminum had rotted on the front and back and somone had poked 2 holes with a fork lift so I killed 2 birds with one stone by cutting and lowering it the next problem I have to fix is I need to push my stacks forward some but I have to move my fuel tank forward to get some more clearance and make new lower stack mounts that are wider and move them down on the frame because the lower sleeper will hit them and I want the stacks wider to fill the gap evenly so the sleeper dosent look too wide -

The hole is there I just took out the rivets for the trim then used the same holes to install the aluminum plate to cover it .I run dual 5 inch stacks and I would have a big gap between the cab and sleeper I can't move the stacks farther forward cause it's up against the fuel tank allready and the tank is bout touching the fender maby once I have it on and fitted ill change my mind but for now I think I'll just leave them separate -

It is paul I think once I have the floor cut and welded I'm going to paint strip it one more time and pressure wash off the last of the paint I also covered the hole to climb in from the cab I just can't bring my self to cut my cab open -

Got some work done on the sleeper got it stripped down all the hinges were bout rusted solid used air craft stripper and removed the 5 layers of paint over all its in good shape.Found some corrosion at the lower mount its steel on aluminum and after some measuring I think I'm going to cut the center of the floor and lower it down over the frame and weld in some c channel to fill the gaps on either side this will remove the corrosion and bring the top down closer to my roof and line up the bottom to the rocker on the cab a little better -
Why does the cooler need cleaned if it's plugged up with wet soot its probly leaking and no good as for egr valve I have worked on other brands most are non serviceable and the material gets corroded from the exhaust gasses and is usually broken when trying to take it apart

Jacobs 675 swapping from one engine to another
Mean Green replied to Full Floater's topic in Engine and Transmission
a lot of Jacob's parts are the same internal wise I tuned mine up and the spools and springs solenoids were all the same as parts for a jake for a cat 3406 e I had a broken power lash adjustment screw and I did have to buy it from mack 80 bucks lol they said it has been on the shelf since 1985 if they had to order one it was 120 . the spools have been updated I think newest have the flat bottoms will work in an older brake -
Years ago my brother and his buddy liked to go steal road signs and hit mail boxes one guy kept putting his up and somone would smash it again well one day he put a oak 6x6 in with a steel pipe on top for the box so no one could smash it . Well not to back down from a challenge my brother and his buddy cut the post off with a chain saw took it home cut f**k you in the pipe with a torch and flattened it with my dad's cat 955 then through it back in the guys yard did I mention my brother was an a hole lol
