I just took a 2001 R688S 8LL and put it in my 1989 R688ST. Can someone tell me if i can make the 2001 Speedo function and work in my 1989 ?

Yes engine is gray pilot bearing i took out was face of bearing flush to flywheel. Now new bearing has ring on it i guess im leaving ring on then, or maybe ill put trans up there on jack and see if its good before i put pressure plate and clutch on ! -

New Pilot bearing has a snap ring on it is the bearing suppose to sit flush on ring? or Flush to fly wheel like it was when i removed trans ?
