We haven’t been able to work it very hard, just a few real short trips. Would an oil analysis be accurate, not sure of last change or how long it sat but I think a long time.

Smoke alot(blueish), especially when warming up after start.

I love this site, thanks very much for the input. Would this Be a fairly rare engine these days? The motor is seized and we were considering a 6 by Cummins swap. Maybe we should be putting our efforts into this motor. Would like to hear thoughts from u guys -
Hope you are right. The oil don’t look too bad so we are running it a bit to see what there might b for issues. Seems to run fine so will get an oil change and maybe not b so much. Does that seem pretty excessive for this motor, stupid but I just don’t know.

Got this motor in 57 b42. I can’t find a picture of a mack motor that looks like it and I can’t find any info on it. Hoping someone knows what it is and if it could have been original.

Thanks for the replies gents! Not a very usable ratio (about 7.1) and the bushings are all shot. Probably cheaper to upgrade than to try to repair this setup.

The frame is in really rough shape actually. Someone has run flat iron trying to stiffen it up, it is a single frame. I thought all the 61 were at least double but not sure. Maybe someone else knows.
