    Yea believe or not these deletes cause nothing but headaches. Way to much unknown here. FJH, MackPro, VMac3 and a few others might be able to help you out.

    I wonder if the vgt actuator/turbo is going out. I believe there is a test for that.

  7. That’s cool, did you deal a lot with that cummins pressure time? Didn’t some of those pumps have something called mechanical valve timing? Used fuel pressure and air to move the cam follwers?
  8. Pretty cool that dealerships had a pump room back then. Now it seems they just send it out. I think a lot of spring work is sent out too or customer is referred to a place.

  12. You will pry get a little more help if you move this to the engine/transmission section. Other then that the code is for a VGT Actuator and they are prone to failure/very expensive. That’s all I can tell you right now.
  13. Also to add to jojo, these trucks run worst and are more prone to catastrophic failure with deletes. Not just Mack. They are programmed and engineered to run as efficiently as possible with all the shit bolted to them. Believe it or not….

  17. Pumping until the old grease is out and new grease shows was suggested by bendix. If the seals are working correctly it should never go towards the brake shoes.

  19. I heard that the metal bushings are better for like dump trucks and the plastic are fine for highway trucks. As the dumps are mostly stop and go and lots of brake applications….

  22. There’s a good possibility, someone that knows more then me on this will pry comment soon. The fact that your code has to do with vehicle security kind of says something.
  23. No, a starter would not activate a CEL. What makes you think the starter is bad? You said it cranked over until it didn’t anymore. Batteries dead? Or did the starter die in the process of cranking it over? I’d suggest checking out the harness/connector on the TCM.
