Did you try to sell it on ebay a year or so ago? I remember that auction, think a link a link was posted here. Its a tough sell, very few people in the market for such a truck and if they are chances are it is making them money and they don't want a project truck with hard to find parts. Myself and others here would hate to see such a rare and awesome Mack model sent to china in little bits. Maybe Gerhart would rescue it or someone else in the heavy hauling/equipment business. I would try to hang on to it for as long as practically possible but it sounds as if you already have. Dump trucks of that size require rigging and a special transport permit to move. Someone out there must have a project that needs an off highway dump. Maybe a small family ran logging/quarry/mining company might want a spare truck or a cheap yet stout 50 ton dumper to move dirt/rock around. I am sure someone would want it its just a matter of finding that person or company. Here is an idea: Post a video of it on YouTube. Sounds crazy but give it an interesting and informative title, something like "monster 50 ton mack dump truck" sounds good. Record some footage of it running around a bit. Start the video off with someone starting the big Detroit (or is it a Cummins?) and driving off. Then switch to an in cab view and drive around for a few minutes letting everyone hear the roaring engine and view out of the cab. Then top it off with another external video of someone running the dump hoist up and down and then your done. MAKE SURE you put the engine model (eg. detroit diesel 16v71 or cummins VTA) and M50 into the tags. This helps the video pop up in you tube and searches. Then in the description say that the truck is for sale and some information about it. People love 2 cycle Detroit "porn". There are tons of detroit diesel videos on youtube and many of them get plenty of hits. The M50 will surely be a great video and someone who is watching might be a potential customer or knows someone who does. Its an odd way to sell but an interesting one. Even if you manage to sell it, keep the video posted for us Mack and Detroit fans. And out of curiosity, how much are you asking for the truck?
