  1. Awwww no black? My old gray Watts shirt got stained after a few months of wearing. Then again I wore it out and also used it as a work shirt. My black Watts shirt is still mint and looks good and have used it for work and play. Either way it looks damn good Barry! I am going to get one and not wear it to work.
  2. Not sure but you can ask the guy who posted them as I believe he works for them or owns them. Seriously though that Superliner puts any Peterbilt or Kenworth to shame.
  3. Ah wow what an awesome picture! Good to see the old dog towing that freightshaker.
  4. This awesome video is of an Australian V8 Superliner pulling what is said to be a 140 tonne vessel. Total weight of that combination is 205 metric tonnes which is 451,947 pounds!!! Too bad the E9 is no longer in production. Imagine the USA Titan powered by one of those beasts. And here are a few bonus clips of other E9 powered Macks!
  5. Let us know if the big MACK logo across the grille is an option or something. I do recall you could get the grille with no logo if you wanted.

LOL three transmissions? I assume you got a quad box with a 3 speed brownie behind it. I have seen that setup before and the three sticks look awesome. Sounds like a fun project, you should get some pictures of it posted!
  7. WOW! That color looks sick! Reminds me of this DAF XF I saw that had a similar bright green frame with a dark blue cab. The fuel tanks, battery box and air tanks were all painted the same shade of green but it was transparent on top of a chrome finish for a green mirror like finish. Looked awesome.
  8. I am with Rob on this one. We had the same problem with an Isuzu we had. I thought the batteries were shot as the lights and accessories worked fine but turn the key and the starter solenoid would engage and turn the engine a little. One night I was outside the truck by the batteries and when the driver went to start it I saw a spark jump from the terminals. So I wiggle the battery cable and it started right up. Next day I used my 99 cent terminal cleaner and tightened up the connections and it never gave us a problem again.
  9. 237 @ E6 2 valve engines are good. Spoke or budd, its up to you. Personally I like spoke rims but bud can get all polished up with aluminum wheels. I have seen chromed spoke rims before and with the hub painted with chrome nut covers and hub caps they look even better then polished aluminum in my opinion. Nice and simple 5 or 6 speed tranny. If you can find an R700 then your set!
  10. Oh yea someone will defiantly want em. They might be options hopefully but I am sure some would just go to Mack AU and get the stacks and hardware from there. Oh I have seen titans with stacks on both the front and coming up from the back of the cab. What an awesome sight with dual exhaust stacks, twin rear intake stacks and twin front snorkels. Do the filter housings have both side and rear intake ports?
  11. Sounds right to me. Before the single manifold valves you coulden't charge the trailer brakes while the yellow tractor valve was out. So they put a third blue valve between the yellow and the tractor spring brakes so you could push the yellow knob in which allows the red knob to be pushed in. Then you just keep the blue valve out to keep the tractor parked while you charge the trailer or hook whatever to the emergency/supply line. Then to park the whole lot just pull the yellow which should cause the red and blue to pop back out.
  12. dgiomack was the one who originally asked.
  13. Ahhhh this same topic was bought up a while back. It turns out its a moisture separator used in the days before desiccant air dryers. There should be a third port that spits the water out.
  14. Rob, Where are they located? Would you be willing to meet at Macungie?
  15. Rob, We did take the side cover off the pump but didn't see any compressed springs but we will take a look again. I believe we might need to rig up a tank to supply the transfer pump as we just let gravity feed the fuel galley from the filter housing.
  16. Sorry Andrew but I couldn't wait to ask this question! Today me and bigrigpardo (Andrew) met up in long island to work on his truck. Well the first task was to get her cranking and after about an hour and a fresh set of batteries we had it spinning by jumping the Series-parallel switch. The dash wiring is all shot as much of the wiring was jerry-rigged so the key switch and start button do nothing. After a few tries to start it our next task was to make sure the lift pump was primed. After I pumped the primer a few times it seemd obvious that it wasnt doing much of anything. Andrew tried pumping it some more but still nothing. Se we got a gallon of diesel and some ether and opened up the fuel filter. We pulled the filter element and cleaned out the housing and filled it to the top with diesel. We then cracked the injection pump feed line to verify fuel was flowing out of the filter housing and then proceeded to try and start it. Still nothing. So we then crack the #6 cylinder injector line to see if fuel was flowing but we got nothing. We also had the fuel return line open and we saw nothing flow out. We also made sure the engine shut off was in the run position. A shot of ether yeilded a short rumble but still no sign of life. So now I am a bit lost as to what the problem might be. My first theory is the fuel rack might be stuck or engine cut off stuck. Second theory is the injection pump is clogged. Another thought is does the injection pump need any soft of positive feed pressure to run? If so that might be our problem and we could rig up a temporary fuel tank to feed the lift pump as the old ones are full of god knows what. I also noticed that when we removed the throttle return springs and manually moved the throttle lever there wasnt any sort of resistance at all just flopped from side to side furthering my suspicion of a stuck rack. Any ideas?
  17. I found this article in an old book on sourcing materials for engineering from 1975. It goes into some detail on the materials and construction of the old 2 stroke Detroit's. Its a 5MB PDF
  18. Just a shot in the dark but the first Mack diesel was designed by Lanova and was called the END672. So maybe they bumped the number to reflect the new Scania design which was very similar to the 672 if not the same block with different heads.
  19. Nice, you barely see em.
  20. Darn, I am no artist but getting some of the newer models in there would be nice. Or how about one of the classic cabovers; like my favorite, the F model. Maybe four to five models? Granite, Superliner, oh oh how about a DM800? How about some kind of split tee shirt that sort of shows how we deal with all Mack's both past and present. Kind of like a grouping of two different generations of trucks. One group would be classics like the R, B, DM, F, Superliner and then another lineup would show a CH, Vision, Granite and Titan. Then somehow group then around the BMT logo. And make up some catchy line that reads something like "From classic to plastic" LOL. Well maybe not that lame.
  21. I agree with Rod, you might be hitting compression. Does it feel spongy or does it come to an instant dead stop? Loosten your injectors with a set of die pry bars and see if you can turn it freely.
  22. Wow check out this Ebay auction! I wonder what his reserve is. Too bad it isnt a tandem M100
  23. How about Mack 52 rears on neway 60k air? That should definatly meet 110+ tonne tripple road train needs. Classic Mack rears with the two piece axle shafts on spider hubs with chromed rims. Front pilot hubs with Alcoas and those nice looking chromed rear fenders. Pair that with dual raised intake stacks and a nice set of those chrome Aussie cut exhaust stacks and your all set! Damn I wish I had one now!
  24. You know what this means Chris? Thats right get your camera and give us a look out the windscreen with those big intake stacks .
  25. Herb, I am thinking of the same setup that you described but wonder why they arent used. It seems kind of silly to have to manually lift the axle to turn.
