  1. Bias tires tend to wear out fast. The old GMC we have with 6.25-20 tires are pretty worn out for just over 33 thousand miles of on road driving.
  2. I think in 86 they switched to galvanized sheet metal for the cab. The small cab went out in 73' but was regular sheet metal prone to rust when the paint chipped away.
  3. Haha those things are a real hoot. Dont read on if you dont want me to spoil it for ya........... The only possible answers for the problems always have the right symbol next to it. The symbols are scrambeld each time you click the crystal. only possible answers are 0-9-18-27-36-45-54-63-72-81 which are multiples of 9 starting from 0. Each time you look next to those numbers that symbol will appear when you click.
  4. The disk probably has a corrupt file allocation table due to bad sectors from age or damage. try this utility: http://www.brothersoft.com/file_disk_manag...cker_42525.html
  5. Everyone I have asked says the Dynatard Is as good on as it is off. If you want to get real stopping power a jake brake or clone like the pac brake is the way to go.
  6. I dont think you would be dissapointed I have sat in and test drove a Mack Freedom (Renault Midlum) which is very similar to the Premium cab. Very comfortable and the Premium cab is supposed to ride even smoother. Full 4 point cab air suspension modern comfortable air seats makes for a real smooth ride. So many old timers constanly bash cabovers because they rode in the dinosaurs never stopping to think of the progress made in modern cabovers. The Europeans are very progressive and put allot of engineering into comfort.
  7. That would be great!
  8. Eh she dont look too healthy.
  9. LoL remember this .......
  10. Does anyone have any interior shots of an H model? Thanks
  11. Bad idea! The reason the front air line is thick is because the line runs right from the pedal to the brake chambers so you need allot of air flow(also helps supply the trailer and trolly brake). The rears have a relay valve that doesent need the flow of a larger line. A larger air line from the primary tank runs to the relay valves supply port then the thin line from the pedal runs to the control port. Then you have 4 delivery ports to each of the four brake chambers on the rear wheels. Your restricting air to the front brakes. So when you pull the ABS fuse it doesent have that problem? Try driving around for a day with the fuse out or even longer. if there is no problem then its a bad ABS component. Maybe a bad ABS ECU or bad sensor. Brad those super single tires can save something like 1000-1200 pounds on a tractor trailer if both drives and trailer wheels are super singles.
  12. LOL I love that Detroit powered ~66 Buick Riviera.
  13. Wow. Very nice work. I still have all my Legos. I was a technic set addict . I like that DAF and your new MH is awesome!
  14. Never heard of a half cab Mack, what model is it? http://www.trucker.com/inventory/specsheet.asp?ID=1821529
  15. LoL Yea it is certainly odd. I think it was better that they switched to the Premium cab. Didnt Mack have a prototype USA version of the Magnum after they decided to cancel the MH? Anyone have pictures of it? HK, I always called it the garbadge can. One good thing about Renault is they never messed with Mack. They even used Mack engines in their Trucks. This is a Mack powerd Magnum. The owner added the Mack logo. They had respect for the Dog.
  16. Actually its the quantum, the succesor to the magnum. The magnum looks like this: Newer European Magnum: Its uses a Renault Magnum cab which is kinda funky loking but has a totally flat floor. The quantum uses the Renault premium high cab. I happen to like the Quantum, always though those Saviem/Renault cabs were sharp looking. Unfortunatly its cheaper to import the Renault cab then produce the MH cab . Same is supposed to happen with the Mack cab here, replaced with a Volvo cab . In my opinion if they go as far as to replace the Mack cab and engines with Volvo engines they should take their Volvo truck division and disolve it.
  17. ABS when it fails it seems to fail in a most unpleasent way. I almost crashed into another car in my Chevy Tahoe after the ABS module went bad. It decided that normal braking was a skid and just let the brake pressure drop, had to apply the emergency brake to get it to stop. Pulled the fuse and never cared to fix it. There might be some type of pressure sensor within the ABS modulator that went bad. That or the modulator computer itself is bad. Eh I like electronics and computers but when it breaks you better have some asprin handy.
  18. Pardon my ignorance but why would you want to disconnect those sensors/systems? And which pump is mechanical, the water pump? And is the ABS bad or just trying to avoid potential problems?
  19. That bulldog news letter was from last summer (2005) it might have been for that summer only. I dont see it in the current Australian Mack merchandise section. Plus they only seem to ship within Australia only. If you did fond something try asking Andy or Hotrod to help you get it.
  20. LOL found this on ebay: One Ton Mack Its amazing as he put a quadbox behind a 5.9 cummins out of a 96 dodge. Then he has air over hydraulic brakes, air lift rear tag and a spring parking brake thats air controlled. Amazing job, and it looks good.
  21. Lederhosen is a Bavarian thing, not Scandinavian. Volvo is more like a Viking coming to pillage our countries truck manufacturers.
  22. Looks like the pre 73 grille that extends into the bumper, from 69 to 73 they used that grille?. Although John might be right.
  23. They have a 173.8 ft (53m) limit down there. Gross weights I think can go as high as 200 Imperial tons! Off highway road trains used in mining get much bigger, heavier and longer! That combination is called an AB train as it has a B train and then an A train behind it (not always in that order). I think there is over 33,000 gallons in those trailers! There is also the 2AB train that has 2 B trains with a dolly linking them. You guys are gonna hate this pic of a 2AB setup : Thy only run Volvos .
  24. When and where is the show?
