  1. Hey guys, Spotted this good looking rs700, problem is that it is located in Oregon. Thats about 3000 miles from me here in NY City. Low price but they quoted shipping at 3500 which sounds high but seeing as how much money diesel is today I can understand. What do you guys think? Old R cab, quad box, and a cummins with the top end in pieces. Tires are supposed to be 22.5" but those rims look like 20" tube. Too bad it cant run http://www.andersonbrotherstruck.com/inven...eet/?ID=1749999
  2. Barry you might want to check these galleries I found on Hanks site. This is what I think you want: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/truc...lamore_mack.jpg These galleries feature some gerosa Macks: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/dpearson.htm http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/mark_redman.htm
  3. Welcome aboard! none taken.
  4. Um...........whats up with the tree suit on the trailer?
  5. Thats the wrong prime mover pulling that train, give those B's the respect they deserve and have a dog do the pulling!
  6. Your 21 and have had a class A for 3 years? Here in NY you have to be 21 to get a class A. You can get your B when your 18 though. When my mothers insurance company herd my brother was 18 and living with us that made the insurance price jump. Here is the catch; he didn't even have a learners permit! I guess they assume he will hijack my Tahoe or moms trail blazer and run a few people over, darn teenagers. My mother said he moved to Florida and I moved to another house we own. Screw the insurance companies. In their eyes young drivers are all retarded, unfortunately they are partially right. Too bad the rest of us responsible drivers have to suffer. I have had my license since I am 21, driving with my permit since I was 18. Never and I mean never had an accident and only pulled over twice and not for moving violations. The morons who can't keep a car for more then 4 months without wrecking it because they think the roads are race tracks ruin it for us. Take my advice, stay under your pops insurance. I am still under my mothers policy as a driver. Save your money.
  7. If that’s the case then you could temporarily bypass it. Is it possible to put an air dryer on the truck and do away with that thing?
  8. Under 25 insuring a big rig like that I can see why the quotes were so high. When you are under 25 they think your a drooling moron behind the wheel. After your 25th birthday you suddenly become a responsible driver.
  9. How cool would it be if OCC did a Mack bike? Their Caterpillar bike was incredible and I could definatly see them doing an awesome job on a Mack bike. Bulldog between the handle bars!
  10. Doc, Here is the link to the B model info on oldmacksrus.com The B-87sx had a cummins NHRS (supercharged) engine, the 873sx had a NRT(turbo charged).
  11. Yea the snow was funny since the other day it was almost 70. Funny thing is when I drove to Long Island City (north-west Queens) I did not see a single bit of snow. I was the only vehicle that had snow on it. Hmmm does it constantly leak? Or does it only leak when the brake pedal is pushed? I can’t seem to find an air brake diagram for older trucks which makes identifying the thing difficult. Is it for the service brakes or spring brakes (I assume service)? Relay valves have a minimum of 3 lines for operation. Does a hose attach to that hose barb? Jeff, do you have only 2 air lines coming and going from that unit? Anyone else?
  12. Im gonna go see the movie now lol.
  13. Can the starter on an E6 fit an E7?
  14. Could it be the relay valve? The relay valve has at least 3 lines running to/from it: -Supply from air reservoir -Control from brake pedal -Delivery to brake chambers (there could be more then one delivery port, one for each brake chamber) Its purpose is to quickly actuate the brakes by using the brake pedal air supply as a simple control signal instead of supplying the full brake pressure through the pedal which would delay the brakes coming on. If one of the lines running out of it goes to the brake chambers then definatly a relay valve. A relay valve has a constant air supply from the reservoir so a leak in it will cause a constant loss of pressure.
  15. Hey Barry, Since you posted the monday night chat on the front page everytime I load it the browser freezes to load the java client. Would be great if you could keep the post but loose the java chat client to speed things up.
  16. Thanks for the information guys, makes sence now since that dog has a winch.
  17. Ok we all love the E-9 but it seems that getting parts for them costs an arm and a leg. Lets say you are running a v8 and the engine blows, what would be an acceptable E9 replacement? A cat in the dog house doesn't seem very Mack to me. Cummins? What about an E7? And how may of you would spring for an MP10 to replace a bad E9 when it is released (assuming you could do a repower with one)? Or is the whole E9 parts chrisis overblown?
  18. Hey all, Was looking at a nice superdog on truck paper that has a 4 speed brownie behind a 15 speed. The thing is it also lists a power tower. I herd term power tower before, seems related to brownies and twin stick transmissions. Any ideas? Here is the listing One sweet lookin superdog. Too bad it's 36 grand. Saw another good lookin long wheel base superdog for 19 grand with a cat in the dog house and a 15 speed.
  19. From what I read ground bearing means that a ram must engauge the ground to lift the goose neck to couple to the tractor, like landing gear. Non ground bearing means that the goose neck has a cylinder that tilts the neck to couple then lifts the trailer once coupled. so the weight of lifting the trailer goes onto the fifth wheel and not the ground. I am not 100% sure but thats what I remember.
  20. Hey Jeff, I found this on truck paper, looks to be the same thing as what nhtrucka has. It is a hyster 24' tilt bed with a fifth wheel hookup. http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/forsale...E0F8877E6A7569A nhtrucka, Did you find that trailer on the truck paper? I saw the same kind of trailer on it few weeks ago and then it wasnt there last week. Nice find.
  21. They also have a Mack Titan powerd with a 18L quad turbo charged E9. Here is the link http://www.bandagbullet.com/titanhomepage.html
  22. Thanks Barry. Perfect site, even found what could be that cause of the problem already.
  23. Well This is an odd question but I am wondering if anyone knows of a good website to get good quality help on fixing my mothers Trailblazer. Would be nice if it were as helpful as this site is. Having problems with the fan clutch and want some advice before throwing down 250 bucks for a new one. If only todays cars/light trucks were built like Macks.
  24. Rod, Great find. Really goes into detail about the individual components and how they operate.
