  1. It originally had a S/P switch and POS ground,now NEG ground w/ 12V starter.four 6V batteries,so plenty of amps.
  2. I don`t have a hand primer on my ENDT673,so am planning to use Bob`s method.Bob,how long do you keep pressure on that tank?
  3. Lol,hope it keeps working.
  4. I tapped on the solenoid and starter with a hammer and it`s cranking again.I`m thinking maybe the contacts in the solenoid are corroded or pitted.I`ll remove it and see what`s up when I get a chance.
  5. My lift pump doesn`t have a hand primer.I replaced lines and the cartridge in the secondary filter. Can I prime the system with air to the fuel tank without opening any lines going to the injection pump? Thanks.
  6. My starter is on the passenger side of the engine, but bending a wrench is a good idea, thanks.
  7. How the heck do you get to that hidden top bolt to take out the starter?I`m guessing it`s bad.I can hear the drive gear hitting the flywheel when I push the start button, but no cranking.Batteries are fully charged, cable connections are clean and tight.I have (4) 6 volt batteries feeding a 12 volt starter. It`s worked great for the 2 yrs I`ve owned the truck,a1961 B61.Thanks
  8. Sold quickly.
  9. There`s also a much bigger filter that takes 2 stacked cartridges. The filtered oil from that goes to the oil cooler. This is an ENDT673 engine.
  10. This is a small Luberfiner,272-C,holds 4 quarts.
  11. How important is the check valve on the inlet fitting of a Luberfiner oil filter? The end of the spring broke or became unattached from the fitting and I don`t see any way to get it reconnected ,or even how it was attached. Thanks.
  12. I`m ready to install 4 Aeroquip oil hoses on my ENDT 673.Should I use any Permatex on the threads,or not necessary? Thanks.
  13. Hi,I need hood lacing too.Could you post the source of the lacing and rivets? They`re a great finishing touch.Thank You.
  14. Is it possible to remove the fan and water pump as a unit, without removing the radiator, maybe loosening the shroud to get a little wiggle room for the fan blades?
  15. I`m not an accomplished mechanic like you guys.I`m out in the backyard standing on a Harbor Freight bench, leaning in w/ a 74 yo back.No way I`d get that out without punching a hole in the radiator.
  16. So that would mean pulling the radiator? Too much for me.
  17. The 2 bolts that mount the bracket evidently pass through the water jacket before threading into the block, and one leaks no matter how much Permatex I coat the bolt with. This seems like an odd arrangement for just bolting a bracket in place, and I`d think a common leaky spot.Any advicer or solutions? Thank You.
  18. You can also try Greg Hoffman,"Underdog" here on the forum,he`s a total pro and reasonable, and a good guy.
  19. Was this a new or restored truck when it was a display truck at Mack? Has it ever worked or is it basically a new truck?

  21. The filter on the left says Luber-finer 272-C.Not only is there no filter inside, there`s no center tube,it`s just an empty can.According to the Mack owners manual a pic of the same(or similar)filter has a tube the length of the canister with a T handle on top, same as the large filter on the right. Can anyone tell me if this a complete filter that never had a center tube,or has it been removed? Can`t see why anyone would do that. What would be the correct part# for the element for a 272-C? Thank You.So I guess 272-C is the part # for the clamp for the lid,it`s a 500 Luberfiner, and could have a center tube or not.
  22. Someone posted maybe 2 yrs ago,he bought two of the Hall Scott pumpers. He was gonna restore one,I don`t think he`s been on here in a long time.
  23. Terry, you`re correct, the filter on the right has two cartridges, stacked. The top filter came out smoothly, the bottom one gets even with the top of the center tube in the housing and comes to a hard stop.I can`t see what could be holding it there, when the top one came right out. These are WIX 51235 elements.Any help is appreciated, thanks.
